TRUE OR FALSE?

You shouldn’t have your feet massaged during pregnancy.

The answer: False.

There are myths around certain pressure points, but these points are not easy to find and you will have to hold them with the intention of putting someone into labor.

When you’re working with someone trained in prenatal massage, foot work can be both safe and incredibly helpful.

Swelling, aching arches, and tired feet are common in pregnancy — and thoughtful massage can bring real relief.

You’re doing so much. Your body feels it.

Postpartum massage isn’t about pampering—it’s about supporting your nervous system, easing pain, and helping you feel like yourself again.

Many clients say they feel:

✨ deeply rested (like they finally slept)

✨ more comfortable in their body; less aches and pains

✨ calmer and better able to care for their baby

You deserve care during postpartum time (which is technically 2 years after birth) 🤍

Your body has done something incredible.

I wish more first-trimester mamas knew they don’t need to sleep on their side the moment they find out they’re pregnant.

You can safely sleep on your back with a small wedge or pillow under your right hip to gently shift the weight off the main artery and vein. This is generally comfortable and supportive up until around 22 weeks.

This matters. So many of my clients start side-sleeping immediately—long before it’s necessary—and end up with sore hips and shoulders as a result.

Early pregnancy doesn’t need more rules.
It needs rest—and a body that still feels good

Snow day outfit essential: these boots. ❄️😍

I love everything about them.

Indigenous-made, waterproof leather, soft lining, Vibram soles — which means they are good for your feet and seriously comfy for walking in snow.

I’ve had mine for years and they still look brand new.

Which boots do you reach for when it snows? Tell me below. 👇

Postpartum healing is not linear — your body, hormones, sleep, and nervous system all shift in big ways.

Regular massage helps support recovery, reduce tension, and calm your mind through it all.

So grateful for reviews like this and for every mama who chooses me to be part of her healing journey. 💕

Thank you for the trust, year after year.

Pregnancy asks so much of your body, and it’s completely normal to feel a little extra tired, tight, or swollen as things shift and grow.

If you’ve been noticing any of these—

✨ trouble sleeping
✨ hip or pelvic discomfort
✨ feeling tight or overwhelmed
✨ swelling in your feet or ankles

—you’re not alone, and your body is simply asking for a little more support.

Prenatal massage can help you:
• release tension
• feel lighter
• calm your nervous system
• rest more deeply

You deserve to feel cared for during this season.
If your body is asking for extra support, I’d love to help you feel more at ease. 💛

I was chatting with two women the other day — they were sitting in chairs, and I was leaning against the wall in a deep squat, taking notes on my phone.

When we wrapped up and started walking out, they said they couldn’t believe how flexible my joints were… AT MY AGE! 😄

Spending time in a deep squat feels totally natural to me. When you use it often, it becomes a resting position — and yes, it can actually be comfortable (for a while 😉).

💡 Try this: next time you text someone, do it in a squat!

Start by propping your heels up on rolled up yoga mat or towel or a couple of cushions under your hips if needed. Over time, you might find you can ditch the props completely.
You’ve heard the saying, “Use it or lose it.”
That absolutely applies to your joints. Every joint in your body needs to move.

👉 Sit on the floor sometimes.
👉 Get up and down from the ground.
👉 Try different sitting positions instead of always using a chair or couch.

Our bodies have become chair-shaped — and that’s one of the reasons so many people experience stiffness and pain.

Another fun fact: you can’t sit in a deep squat as long as you can lounge in a squishy chair — and that’s a good thing! It naturally encourages you to move more often and keep your joints alive and healthy. 🌀

I’m planning to start teaching movement classes again soon at my new office space!
More details to come — but if you’re interested in joining a group class, let me know below! 👇

Postpartum massage is the rest, nurturing, and deep exhale you deserve after the incredible athletic feat of giving birth.

It’s your time to relax, breathe, and just be — without having to worry about the baby… at least for a little while. 💆‍♀️

But here’s the truth:
It’s not always possible to have someone watch your newborn while you get a massage — and that’s okay. Your baby is welcome here. 💛

✨ Sometimes you’ll arrive early, feed them, and they’ll nap the whole time.
✨ Other times, they may want to nurse the entire session.
✨ And occasionally, they’ll just want to be close — snuggled up on the table with you.

Whatever the day brings, I’ve got you.

Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, or just needing extra bolstering for comfort — I’ll support you in receiving a full, nurturing massage without needing to separate from your baby.

You don’t have to choose between taking care of yourself and caring for your newborn. With postpartum massage, you get to do both. 🌿

Pro tip: I recommend scheduling your first postpartum massage during pregnancy — so it’s already on the calendar. Many mamas find 4 weeks postpartum to be a sweet spot… but listen to your body — you’ll know when it’s time. 💫

📅 Ready to feel like you again?

DM me to schedule your postpartum massage or ask any questions.

Let’s make sure you’re cared for — body, mind, and heart.

I hear this all the time: "I have a high arch so I need arch support."

Or because i have foot pain, diabetes or .... fill in the blank, I need to wear these super supportive shoes ALL THE TIME. Indoors and outdoors.

This is advice from well-meaning doctors, but it is doing a disservice to your feet.

Each of our feet have 33 joints, which means they should be flexible and mobile. When you wear shoes with super thick soles, you are keeping all the joints from moving and, in turn, making your feet weaker.

Instead, spending time barefoot, tranistionng to minimal shoes.    (more on that in a later post)

Walking on uneven surfaces. Stretching and massaging and rolling your feet over a tennis ball can provide much more benefit to your feet.

And for your kiddos, be aware of what you are putting in their feet and things that can come of your mouth without thinking like, " You have to wear shoes when you go outside to play!"

Children who spend more time barefoot become adults with stronger feet!

Hi!!👋👋 I haven't been super active since having my son and wanted to reintroduce myself.

My name is Heather. I spend most of my days chasing my toddler (making sure he doesn't jump off the play structure or our back deck. 🤣 funny, not funny) and driving my tween around.

I had to take a long break from giving massages after giving birth to my second child because I ended up with de quervain's tenosynovitis or .  I am thankfully recovered and back to work part-time.

Come see me in my new office in Wheat Ridge!

If you have now, let me know if you have any questions about my journey.

I am a certified prenatal and postpartum massage therapist with over 25 years of experience.

I'm passionate about supporting people through the wild ride of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and motherhood.

Massage can help improve birth outcomes, reduce back and neck pain, improve sleep and circulation.

I am also a Restortive Exercise Specialist. What does that even mean? Well, I've studied with

And we believe many of our aches and pains are caused by missing movement nutrients.

I enjoy teaching people ways to add movement into their life to help them find balance in their bodies. That includes self massage techniques, which can keep you feeling great between your in-person massage sessions.

If you have benefited my work, comment below and say Hi!

Happy Thursday, friends!

I had a sweet new client yesterday who
was 41+ weeks pregnant. She wanted help getting her labor going!

She is ready to meet her little one!

Did you know that this is something I can help you with?

I reccomened booking a 90-minute massage at or after 40 weeks.  And I will incorporate acupressure points, essential oils, and wven some Maya midwife tricks I've learned over the years into your massage.

It's not 100% successful, but it has definitely helped get things going for many clients over the years.

Plan ahead and book an appointment for when you are at least 40 weeks.

Dont worry, my 24-hour cancelation policy doesn't count when you go into labor!

DM me with any questions or to book!

Have a beautiful day!

Recently Heather has become certified by Nutritious Movement as a restorative exercise specialist. This means she can teach people how to fill in some of their weak spots with corrective exercises so they have stronger and more functional bodies. She is available in her office for private sessions where we will begin with the alignment points and then work on the correctives. She also plans to teach group exercise classes in the Denver Highlands and the East side of Wheat Ridge. These classes will have many different topics such as pre and postpartum exercise, hips and knee, shoulders and backs, healthy feet and maybe even BOSU classes. Please let us know if you are interested in a private session to get the basics and her group exercise classes. Contact Heather at Heather@manicelesti.com
