This week, we’re celebrating the caregivers who help make every patient’s experience start with compassion. 💙

During Patient Access Week, we recognize the teams at Lutheran Hospital who help patients navigate scheduling, registration and the many important first steps of care. Often the first point of contact, these caregivers play a vital role in creating a smooth, supportive experience from the very beginning.

This year’s theme, “Innovative Access: Transforming Healthcare Management for the Future,” highlights the meaningful work these teams do every day to improve access, reduce barriers and help patients feel seen, supported and cared for.

Thank you to our Patient Access caregivers for all you do to keep care moving forward.

Earlier this week, we celebrated Doctors’ Day at Lutheran Hospital—and our Nutrition Services team truly made it unforgettable. 💙

From a beautifully prepared spread to thoughtful details throughout, this incredible team went above and beyond to create a warm, welcoming space for our doctors to pause, connect and feel appreciated. Their talent, teamwork and pride in their work were on full display—and it made all the difference.

While the day was dedicated to celebrating our physicians and the care they provide every single day, it was also a reminder of the many teams working behind the scenes to support them.

To our Nutrition Services caregivers: thank you for the care you bring to everything you do.

And to our doctors: we’re grateful for your compassion, leadership and commitment to our patients and community.

Matt Jensen’s life still includes snow days, road trips, and time with the people he loves — along with showing up every three weeks for cancer treatment.

At 42, Matt was busy running his business and raising two kids when a sudden trip to the ER led to an advanced colorectal cancer diagnosis. Looking back, he says there were symptoms he ignored because life felt too busy to slow down. Today, he continues treatment at Intermountain Health’s Cancer Centers of Colorado while staying active and focused on what matters most: family, planning his wedding, and getting back to the mountains when he can.

Matt’s story is a reminder that colorectal cancer can affect younger adults — and that listening to your body matters. Experts recommend colon cancer screening starting at age 45, or earlier for those with risk factors.

What does a doctor do? If you ask local kids, the answers are pretty adorable — and surprisingly accurate. 💙🩺

For Doctors' Day, we asked local students to share what they think doctors do through words and drawings. Their responses were funny, thoughtful, creative, and a sweet reminder of the impact physicians have in our communities.

In this video, Dr. Aram Neuschatz from Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital reads a few of their responses in celebration of the doctors who care for patients and families every day.

Join us in wishing our physicians a happy Doctors' Day and thanking them for the skill, compassion, and dedication they bring to every patient interaction. 💙

Caregivers at Lutheran Hospital recently took part in helicopter safety training on the helipad for patients as part of preparations for a larger emergency exercise coming up this April.

The focus: practicing “hot offload” procedures—safely and quickly receiving patients arriving by air, including those needing immediate, direct-to-OR care.

From security and house supervisors to emergency management and safety teams, this hands-on training strengthens coordination when seconds count.

Thank you to MEDEVAC, Suzanne Duerksen, RN, and Joylyn Godinez, RN, for helping our teams stay prepared to deliver exceptional care when it matters most. 💙
