Please join us in congratulating our colleague, our friend, and the 2024 OMCPA Pharmacist of the Year, Amber Conrad!

Continuing our yearly tradition of honoring a local pharmacist as Pharmacist of the Year, we are pleased to recognize a dedicated individual for her service to the profession and community.

This year, we honor Moundsville, WV native, Dr. Amber Conrad, who graduated from John Marshall High School in 2009, and went on to West Liberty University to earn her Bachelor’s degree as a double major in both biology and chemistry. While attending the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy, she interned with Mylan Pharmaceuticals in Morgantown, WV, and Kroger Pharmacy. In 2017, she received her Doctor of Pharmacy from West Virginia University, and returned to Marshall County to begin her career as a pharmacist at Moundsville Pharmacy.

Amber is currently the Medication Packaging Manager and Performance Services Coordinator at Moundsville Pharmacy, and its satellite pharmacy locations in Sistersville, Pine Grove, and New Martinsville, WV. In this role, she is focused on developing and implementing processes and programs to drive a high level of performance for the pharmacy and quality outcomes for her patients. Amber leads a medication packaging and long-term care pharmacy team that services nursing home, assisted living, adolescent behavioral health, hospice, and substance use disorder patients. Amber has also specialized her knowledge into Medicare Part D and LTC-At-Home services. Amber is constantly looking for ways to improve the efficiency of her team, and make an impact on patient care.

Amber has proven that it is possible to make significant impacts on the profession in under 10 years of practice, as she has worked over the past three years through CPESN WV and NCPA’s Flip the Pharmacy initiative, and will always take the extra time to share her experiences so that others can benefit from what she has learned.

Over the past two years, Amber has been serving as president of the Ohio-Marshall County Pharmacists Association, and has been serving on the Spring Seminar planning committee since graduation. Amber is a member of the West Virginia Pharmacists Association, which recognized her with the Excellence in Innovation Award in 2022, and a member of NCPA. Amber also serves on the Glen Dale Child Development Center Board of Directors.

Above all, Amber will likely tell you her most favorite things in life are her daughter Peyton, who she shares with her husband, Justin – both of whom are joining us today – and together, they love Disney and Walt Disney World.

Please join us in congratulating our colleague, our friend, and the 2024 OMCPA Pharmacist of the Year, Amber Conrad
