Update from CSEA Statewide President Mary Sullivan:
Federal Labor Rights Under Attack
The Trump administration has directed federal agencies to move forward with terminating or modifying collective bargaining agreements (union contracts), expanding executive orders that stripped more than 1 million federal workers of their bargaining rights under the guise of national security. The directive applies to roughly two-thirds of the federal workforce across more than 40 agencies and requires agencies to pursue union decertification and report monthly until terminations are completed. Federal unions, including AFGE, are challenging the move in court, calling it unlawful retaliation against working people and vowing to continue the fight to restore collective bargaining rights.
This latest attack on labor aligns with Project 2025 initiatives the administration has embraced during its first year.

As these threats escalate, our union is urging members to stay informed, stay engaged, and stand united. The stakes for workers and public services have never been higher. This is an election year for all U.S. House members, and you can expect CSEA to flex its political muscle to support candidates that will fight for CSEA members and their families.
