Even a week later, we’re still feeling the luck of the Irish at Broad Creek Manor.

Our St. Patrick’s Day celebration was filled with laughter, great company, and lots of fun. Residents enjoyed making homemade Lucky Charm cupcakes and spending time together celebrating.

It’s days like this that remind us what makes Broad Creek Manor so special—real connections, meaningful moments, and a place that truly feels like home.

At Broad Creek Manor it is our staff that truly make the difference.

Leah recently put together a thoughtful tea tasting and learning experience for our residents, and it turned into so much more than just a fun activity. She took the time to teach about where tea comes from and how it’s made, then guided everyone through tasting each type.

Did you know all true teas come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis?

The difference is in how they’re processed:
• White tea is the least processed, made from young buds that are simply plucked and dried
• Green tea is lightly processed, then steamed or pan-fried before drying
• Oolong tea goes through multiple steps, including shaking and partial oxidation
• Black tea is fully oxidized, giving it its bold flavor

It was a great mix of learning, conversation, and trying something new together.

Barb had a wonderful birthday today at Broad Creek Manor.

Her special request was strawberry shortcake, and of course we made sure she had exactly what she wanted.

She also enjoyed a delicious homemade chicken salad lunch while spending time with her son, Dale Hevesy, which made the day even more special.

A big thank you to Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church for spending part of their Sunday worshiping with the residents at Broad Creek Manor. Hearing everyone sing Amazing Grace together was such a beautiful and meaningful moment.

Today’s Mardi Gras Social Hour was full of personality and color! Our residents had so much fun picking out festive masks, layering on bright beads, and striking a pose for the camera. From elegant and sparkly to bold and playful, each mask brought out a little extra sparkle and laughter.

There’s something special about putting on a mask — it gives everyone permission to be a little silly, a little glamorous, and a whole lot of joyful. And of course, we topped it all off with delicious King Cake to complete the celebration!

At Broad Creek Manor, we believe Assisted Living with an Independent Spirit means celebrating traditions, creating memories, and making every social hour something to smile about.
