Since 2014, when I've been able, I've joined Kumud Ajmani and other regular spiritually minded people in , first on Twitter, these days on Bluesky, for an hour, to focus and discuss life, humanity, and the universe through the spiritual lens. The discussions have always been heartfelt, thought-provoking, and wonderful material for reflection. I have never met Kumud or any of the regulars in this group face-to-face, but I consider them my friends. This week, we are not doing SpiritChat, but Kumud is promoting this free event. From a small child, I was energy sensitive and had a lively internal life, as well as reading lots of books! By the time I was 13 I had read the whole Lord of the Rings Series 13 times, and all of Ray Bradbury’s sci-fi works from the local library. My average around that age was 6 books per week.
So information digestion and normal ‘reading’ of data came easy to me. I would paint and draw, also. Once I found an author I liked, I would set to and read all of their collected works.
I was very sensitive to people and struggled with being bullied at school because people could tell I was different, they didn’t know why, but felt threatened, so picked on me. Being a straight-A student didn’t help, people who are insecure find that very threatening.
These days, you might call me ‘high-functioning’, but then I got called ‘bright but overly imaginative and lacking in confidence’.
I naturally seemed to have an ability with computers in my mid-twenties and was responsible for computer programming systems design in the British Independent TV industry for a while. (I have worked for the BBC, Sky, ITV, and Channel 4 in the past).
I did myself out of a job there because once I had designed the program planning system, it only took a half-hour a week to update!
After a few months of reading the paper and asking for more work, I got involved in computer support there and then developed my skills. Ultimately I left that industry and worked in a different company developing computer training courses.
After that and a clash with a narcissist/misogynist boss, I went freelance, helped to train people to use the UK Lottery terminals when they first came in. That paid for my new work computer and car that I needed at the time, then did all sorts of other contract jobs as a freelancer.
A colleague from another company joined me and we worked together to create Oddball Training. One of our courses still runs today and we wrote it in 1996!
I studied NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Accelerated Learning, and Kinesiology while working in Oddball.
A few years later I married and moved to the US and had a family. My youngest son is now in High School. While raising my kids, I studied reflexology and energy work (EMF Balancing Technique). It just seemed to fit with my inner life and answered many questions I had about mystical experiences that I couldn’t explain. At last, some answers!
In 2010 my dear mum passed away, a few months before that I received a book I didn’t order in the mail called ‘How to Read the Akashic Records’. On reading that book, I felt a strange energy move over my body and had a spontaneous opening to the Akashic Records.
From that point on, I found I could read the Records for others. I have trained with several Akashic Teachers to develop my gifts, and here I am today.
