Meet the Founder: Esi the Rootworker
Esi the Rootworker is the founder and CEO of RootWork, LLC, a holistic outpatient treatment and community-healing organization in Wichita, Kansas. As a Licensed Masters Addiction Counselor and Certified Person-Centered Case Manager, Esi has dedicated her life to weaving together evidence-based treatment, cultural traditions, and spiritual practices that empower individuals, families, and communities.
At RootWork, Esi leads a team committed to providing Level I & II outpatient substance-use treatment, MAT coordination, relapse prevention, and court-mandated services. Beyond traditional clinical care, she incorporates spiritual readings, shadow work, mindfulness, journaling, and Ifa-inspired teachings, ensuring that each client is supported as a whole person — mind, body, and spirit.
A cornerstone of RootWork is its Apothecary, which carries a carefully curated selection of healing products, including seamoss, oils, cleansing and protection tools, burnables, and sage. These offerings reflect Esi’s belief that true wellness includes access to natural and ancestral remedies that restore balance and resilience.
Equally committed to public health and harm reduction, Esi ensures RootWork provides community access to life-saving resources such as Narcan and fentanyl test strips. This dual focus on prevention and healing underscores her dedication to meeting people exactly where they are on their journey.
Beyond clinical services, Esi is an innovator and educator, creating proprietary workbooks, curricula, and group programs such as a 26-week anger management course, financial literacy modules, and mindfulness journals. Her vision is to scale RootWork into a seven-figure community brand, offering transformative healing, education, and empowerment well beyond Kansas.
At the heart of her work, Esi remains true to her calling: to be a guide, healer, and change-maker who helps individuals reclaim their power, families restore their balance, and communities thrive in wholeness.
