Working with a dietitian on scarcity and abundance mindset can be a powerful step in healing disordered eating. I can help you identify restrictive patterns, challenge food rules, and rebuild trust with your body in a supportive, non-judgmental way. Through personalized guidance, practical tools, and ongoing accountability, you can learn to reduce guilt around food, decrease binge-restrict cycles, and develop a more balanced, peaceful relationship with eating. National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (NEDAW) is a national campaign to raise awareness about eating disorders, challenge stigma, and provide hope and support to all those impacted.
In 2026, NEDAW takes place February 23–March 1, with the theme Every BODY Belongs. Eating disorders affect 30 million Americans across all ages, sizes, races, genders, and backgrounds. Too often, people go unseen or unsupported due to stigma, misinformation, and barriers to care. This , we come together to fight for change, commit to change, and remind everyone that every body belongs.

If you’re on a GLP-1 — or considering one — this is important. I break down what actually matters for protecting your muscle, energy, and long-term health. Read the full post to make sure you’re approaching your GLP-1 journey in a sustainable, balanced way.

GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide have quickly become some of the most commonly prescribed medications in metabolic health. Here are the two biggest pitfalls we see as Dietitians for those on GLP-1's.

02/07/2026

GLP-1s slow gastric emptying + reduce appetite, so the goal is nourishment, not restriction.
1. Protein is non-negotiable
2. Small, frequent meals > large meals
3. Fiber—important, but strategic
4. Hydration matters
5. Strength training is the priority
6. Cardio for health, not punishment

Disordered eating is far more common than people think. Many behaviors we’ve been taught are “healthy” — frequent dieting, strict food rules, guilt after eating, compensating with exercise, or feeling out of control around food — are actually signs of a strained relationship with food.

When nutrition advice promotes restriction, especially in group settings, it can do real harm. One-size-fits-all plans ignore individual health needs, increase shame, and can reinforce disordered eating patterns.

Health is not about control or punishment.
Supportive, individualized, non-diet nutrition care matters.

I am a non-diet dietitian because research shows that diets don’t work. They may work for a few years but the weight almost always comes back and sometimes even more weight. Have you ever thought about why weight loss resolutions fail so often? When we focus on weight loss, the resolution rarely sticks.

This is why I focus on healthy behaviors with clients. I encourage them NOT to weigh themselves. I help clients minimize all-or-nothing thinking about health behaviors. I help clients heal their relationship with food so it doesn’t control them anymore. I teach intuitive eating.

If you want help with this new way of looking at health, schedule an appointment using the self-scheduler on our website or DM me. In-network with most insurance plans.

Ever heard of “Health at Every Size”?
🤍
Weight gain over time is often caused by restricting food on-and-off through out your life. So what’s the answer then if diets aren’t going to make us healthier?
🤍
Focusing on being healthy at whatever size you are! is the framework that I use.
🤍
I’m not saying that everyone is healthy at whatever size they are at. I am saying that focusing on weight is a often futile attempt at being healthy.
🤍
We can improve health significantly by working on adding healthy behaviors instead of fixating on the scale.
🤍
Let’s use an example of a pre teenager that has put on a lot of weight. Talking about his “weight problem” in front of him or making comments about all the “junk food” he eats is going to make it worse. He’ll get more withdrawn and more attracted to the foods Mom wants to limit.
🤍
When I work with families like this, I help Mom learn to take the focus off his weight and add in family meals and snack schedule with a variety of food. I help mom learn to stop commenting about his body and model joyful movement. I also help mom realize that she cannot control her child. We don’t want our kids to think their worth and value is related to their size.
🤍
The same principles apply to adults! If you want to learn more about , message me to learn about my 1:1 counseling services

Welcome

I am a registered and licensed dietitian that teaches intuitive eating to families. We all want to raise kids to have a healthy relationship with food. We want our kids to feel good, be healthy in their bodies, and to not struggle with food ... like us.

But sometimes we don't know how to make that happen.

We stress about sugar, vegetables, not eating enough or too much, and knowing what to serve.

We end up bribing with desserts, making separate meals and telling them they can't have "junk" food.
