When it comes to stroke care, minutes matter.

Recently, our team achieved an exceptional milestone: Tenecteplase was administered just 15 minutes after arrival — far ahead of our 45-minute goal for eligible stroke patients and the national guideline of 60 minutes. That kind of speed takes seamless coordination across the ED, imaging, pharmacy, nursing and our stroke team.

Wesley Healthcare Stroke Program Director Mohammed Hussain, MD, left, and Stroke Coordinator Brandon Cowling, BSN, RN, far right, recognized Brent Rockley, MD, with an award for this standout performance. As a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Wesley Healthcare provides advanced, life-saving stroke care, and can manage even the most serious and complex conditions.

Tenecteplase is a clot-busting medication used for certain types of strokes to help restore blood flow to the brain — and rapid treatment can make a meaningful difference. At Wesley, our goal is to always exceed expectations. This is excellence in action: prepared teams, proven processes and quick decisions — when every second counts.

🩺 If you’ve had a checkup recently, you may have noticed your doctor included a depression screening. With depression becoming more common across the U.S., these questionnaires are now a routine part of many appointments. They’re designed to help doctors spot signs of depression early so patients can get support sooner.

Understanding how these screenings work can make the process feel less intimidating. Learn more about what doctors look for and the treatment options they may recommend to help you feel better: https://www.wesleymc.com/healthy-living/blog/why-doctors-are-screening-for-depression-during-medical-checkups?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_content=sf280032635&utm_campaign=behavioralhealth&sf280032635=1

Chelsee Knoblauch’s compassion is part of what makes Wesley Children's Hospital shine.

Chelsee, a hematology/oncology nurse and pediatric oncology nurse navigator, was honored this month with the Compassionate Caregiver Award during the Schwartz Rounds, a multidisciplinary forum that supports the teams who care for children and families through some of their hardest days.

Families deserve clinical expertise and human connection. Chelsee is known for helping make complex information easier to understand, coordinating care across teams and showing up with steady support from diagnosis through milestones.

We’re proud to celebrate Chelsee — who is pictured here with Schwartz Rounds committee members Dr. Melissa Hopper, Dr. Kerri Weeks and Ashton Unrein — and the team members across Wesley Children’s Hospital who lead with skill, empathy and advocacy every day.

💙 Please join us in congratulating Chelsee in the comments. To learn more about Wesley Children's Hospital, visit https://bit.ly/478jOJQ

❤️ Have you heard of ? It happens when the heart's electrical signals fall out of rhythm, which can lead to an irregular heartbeat and a range of symptoms. Some arrhythmias are harmless, while others may need more attention.

Arrhythmias can affect anyone. If your heartbeat feels a little "off" or you're noticing unusual symptoms, it's best to get it checked out. If you're experiencing chest pain, severe shortness of breath or fainting, seek emergency care right away.

If you'd like to get your symptoms checked and it's not something requiring emergency care, schedule an appointment with one of our cardiologists: https://bit.ly/4kHIYVt

Burn injuries can happen quickly – at home, outdoors or during everyday routines. This National Burn Awareness Week, we’re joining the American Burn Association in spotlighting this year’s theme: “Burn Prevention Where You Live, Work and Play – Preventing Burns in the Workplace.” While many burns occur in places like kitchens, workshops or industrial settings, prevention starts with awareness wherever you are. Explore simple, proactive steps to help keep you and your family safe: https://bit.ly/4cbzRdg

Mild, first‑degree burns – often marked by redness, pain or slight swelling – can typically be cared for at home using simple first-aid steps like gently cleaning the area with cool water and soap, applying a thin layer of ointment and covering with sterile, non‑stick gauze. Over‑the‑counter medication can help with discomfort. Follow the tips we’re sharing here on what to avoid when treating a burn.

For more serious burns, especially those involving deeper tissue or larger areas, prompt medical attention is critical. Emergency rooms are prepared to provide timely care. For complex cases, specialized treatment is available through our broader HCA Healthcare, including 11 American Burn Association-recognized burn centers across nine states.
