Morgen Backus is a Clinical Nutritionist who helps women heal from the inside out by addressing the root causes of hormone imbalance, gut issues, and low energy. With a Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition, licensure as a Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN), and board certification as a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), Morgen combines evidence-based science with holistic, functional approaches to wellness. In addition, she runs her own private practice, Morgen Backus Nutrition, where she offers telehealth nutrition sessions and personalized wellness plans, designed to help women understand their bodies and feel confident in their health. Morgen’s passion for nutrition began with her own healing journey. After struggling with IBS and acne in college, she discovered that prescriptions and quick fixes only provided temporary relief. Without the budget for expensive medications or trendy supplements, she turned to food, lifestyle shifts, and plant medicine — and saw her health transform. That experience inspired her mission: helping women cut through the noise of health fads and find lasting results through a personalized, holistic approach. She is also the founder of Off The Leaf Botanicals, a line of intentional herbal products and supplements she personally crafts or curates for her clients. Morgen specializes in working with women who are ready to:

• Heal bloating, fatigue, acne, PMS, and other hormone-related symptoms
• Transition off hormonal birth control naturally
• Prepare their bodies for pregnancy
• Build strength, energy, and confidence through root-cause nutrition
• Stop wasting money on gimmicks, trends, or one-size-fits-all plans

Through her clinical expertise, real-life experience, and holistic philosophy, Morgen empowers women to finally feel in control of their health. Her clients leave not only with results, but with the knowledge and confidence to sustain them for life.

💪🏾 It’s not about lifting the heaviest weight possible… It’s about training with intention for the outcome you actually want.

I’m training with moderate weights + conditioning (like sled pushes) because my goal is toning, not bulking. 🏋🏾‍♀️

This style builds lean muscle, improves cardio fitness, and increases fat-burning—without stressing my joints or nervous system. ❤️‍🩹

Strength + endurance + metabolic work → body recomposition over time. ⌛

Workouts paired with proper nutrition & stress management is the key that I teach my clients. I, too, can struggle with finding balance, but awareness is important! 🔑

Late menstrual into early follicular phase is when many women begin to feel their energy slowly returning.

Hormones are beginning to shift again, which can make movement feel a little easier compared to the first few days of your period.

For a lot of women this is a great time to ease back into strength training or increase activity again.

But one thing I always remind my clients:

Nutrition still matters here.

Your body is still recovering from the menstrual phase, and focusing on nutrient-dense foods can help support energy, recovery, and hormone balance.

Prioritize things like:
• adequate protein
• iron-rich foods
• vitamin C for absorption

Cycle syncing doesn’t mean stopping your routine.
It means supporting your body through each phase.

I recommend following these eight preconception habits before trying to conceive 👶🏾

Remember: Fertility is built through daily habits, not pressure or perfection ❤️‍🩹

As a practitioner, these are the stories that remind me why I love the work I do.

Jess came to me dealing with painful cycles, heavy periods, fatigue, and feeling disconnected from her body.

As a busy mom of three, she simply wanted to feel better and have the energy to show up fully for her family.

Instead of focusing on quick fixes, we worked on the foundations of hormone health — blood sugar balance, nutrient-dense foods, stress support, and sustainable lifestyle shifts.

Over time, she began noticing real changes in how she felt.

Hormone symptoms are common, but they are not something you have to accept as your normal.

Your body is always communicating with you.

If a storm was coming, these are the herbs I’d want in my kitchen 🌿

Power outages, stress, poor sleep, digestive upset — storms affect more than just the weather. Chamomile, peppermint, mullein, and echinacea are simple, shelf-stable, and supportive. ❤️‍🩹

Curious about the herbs I use or want to try out what I use? Send me a message, I’d be happy to point you in the right direction! 👉🏾

🩸POV: You’re in your luteal phase and your body needs more support, not more restriction.

During the luteal phase, progesterone rises — which means:
• Slightly higher calorie needs
• Increased hunger & cravings
• Lower stress tolerance
• Energy that may feel more inconsistent

Instead of fighting your body, fuel it 🥑

This plate supports:
✔ Blood sugar balance
✔ Stable energy
✔ Hormone production
✔ Fewer cravings

Think: protein + fiber + slow carbs.

Cycle syncing isn’t about eating less — it’s about eating smarter for the phase you’re in.

💪🏾If your workouts feel harder, your appetite is up, or your energy dips before your period… your body isn’t broken. It just needs different support.

Save this for your next luteal phase.
