Braces aren’t just for teens! While many patients begin treatment in adolescence (or even adulthood), some kids can benefit from early orthodontic care, also known as Phase I treatment.⁠

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic visit around age 7. For most children, this visit is simply a check-in to monitor growth and development. But in some cases, early treatment can help guide jaw growth, create space for incoming teeth, and make future treatment easier and more efficient.⁠
