Our First Official Group Investigation!
Last night we had our very first paranormal investigation as a team, and what an incredible way to begin this journey. Seven of us gathered together with the simple goal of “testing the waters” right here in our own community and Townsquare Media in Williston graciously opened their doors for us to explore their building after hours. The station used to be part of a local clinic, so we were already curious about the history and energy in the space.
We started the night by meeting as a full group for the first time, talking through methods, safety, and equipment. A staff member gave us a full tour, and when they locked us in, the real fun began.
TEAM ONE – THE UPSTAIRS ENERGY: Team One stayed upstairs in a room where the energy felt noticeably “off” to almost everyone who entered. They used a spirit communication app, filmed several videos, and set out spirit balls that are motionless unless triggered by EMF activity. The spirit balls lit up repeatedly in response to questions, and the group received clear, intelligent communication through the app. It was an active and responsive area from start to finish.
TEAM TWO – THE PHOTO ROOM & OUR STRONGEST ACTIVITY: Team Two went into a room full of historical photos, and immediately the EMF reader went wild around a specific photograph of a man believed to be a known spirit connected to the building. No matter where they moved the photo, the EMF spikes followed it. And just as they were speaking to this spirit, a door behind them suddenly shut on its own—with absolutely no airflow or logical reason for it to move. This was one of the most compelling moments of the night.
TEAM THREE – SPIRIT BOX & AN UNEXPECTED CONNECTION: Team Three used a spirit box and at first received mostly static. But one of our team members felt a strong pull into another room, and once we moved there, everything shifted. An uncommon name kept coming through the spirit box which was a name that one of us had been intuitively picking up on before we even asked for it. The tone of the messages became softer, almost poetic, like someone speaking with affection about a woman they cared deeply for. We later realized this presence may have been connected to the same spirit Team Two encountered.
The group also found several “energy spots”, or areas where you could physically feel a temperature or energetic shift just by stepping in and out of the space.
OVERALL IMPRESSIONS: Every team experienced activity ranging from intelligent responses, EMF spikes, environmental changes, emotional messages, and even physical movement. For our first investigation together, it was honestly more than we could’ve hoped for. We learned a lot, bonded even more, and left with a ton of excitement for future investigations.
