This past week, one of my mentors reflected something back to me that stopped me in my tracks. She noticed that I’ve learned how to open my heart fully in rooms of women, while holding space, guiding transformation, and staying deeply present…yet with my partner, there is still armor. A different energy. Old protective patterns I didn’t even realize were still there.
It was a bruise to my ego, especially since this work of softening, masculine/feminine energy and truth-telling is what I guide others through. And yet… I’m deeply grateful for her loving honesty.
That night, I made a bracelet with letter beads that simply said: soften.
And I practiced.
Even when it felt uncomfortable. Even when he was sick and on edge. I softened my body, released the stories I’d been holding back, and offered vulnerable support instead of protection. What followed was a deeper sense of connection than I’d felt in a while.
That experience reminded me of something I come back to again and again:
Softening doesn’t happen in isolation.
We don’t build these muscles alone, and we don’t practice vulnerability for the first time in the most tender relationships in our lives. We need safe places to rehearse. Places where truth is welcomed, where nervous systems can settle, where we can try on new ways of being without fear of judgment or collapse.
This is why spaces like The High Vibe Collective and my mentorship exist.
They are intentional, sacred containers where you get to practice softening, telling the truth, and being fully seen before bringing that energy into your partnerships, families, businesses and lives. Think of it like learning new emotional movement in a padded, supportive room… instead of on a hard floor with mirrors for walls.
My question for you is this:
Do you have a place where you feel safe enough to soften?
A place where you can lay down the armor, speak what’s true, and be held while you do?
If not, this may be your invitation.
