💙 West Plains is “Painting the Town Blue” for Autism Acceptance! 💙

Children’s Behavioral Services is proud to support ASCEND at Missouri State University–West Plains as they lead a community effort to recognize National Autism Acceptance Day on April 2nd, which will also be officially recognized by Mayor Topliff and the City of West Plains.

You can help show your support by:

🔹 Creating blue-themed displays throughout April
🔹 Sharing photos that promote acceptance and inclusion

🌈 Volunteers Needed for the Autism 5K Color Run/Walk!

One Date. One Mission. Two locations!
Children’s Behavioral Services is looking for volunteers to help create an unforgettable day for local children and families affected by autism.

📅 Saturday, April 18

📍 Willow Springs – 9:00 AM
📍 West Plains – 2:00 PM

Volunteers will help run color stations, cheer along the route, assist with registration, and help with event setup. Volunteers should plan to arrive about 2 hours before race start time.

Students, clubs, and community groups are welcome, and community service hours can be provided.

🌟 Future Professionals in the Making! 🌟

Today, Children’s Behavioral Services had the pleasure of hosting Hailey Waldron, a student from Willow Springs High School, for a job shadow experience with one of our pediatric Occupational Therapists.
During her visit, Hailey observed therapy sessions and learned how occupational therapists help children develop motor skills, fine motor coordination, and everyday life skills that support independence and success. It was a great opportunity to see firsthand how therapy can help children reach important milestones.

At CBS, we are proud to support students who are exploring careers in healthcare and working toward furthering their education and professional goals. Experiences like job shadowing help inspire the next generation of compassionate professionals who will continue paving the path to opportunity for children and families.

We’re excited to share the official race routes for our upcoming CBS 5K Color Run/Walk Fundraiser! This event supports our mission of creating opportunities for children and families across our communities.

✨ One Mission. One date. Two Locations.
Saturday, April 18th.

📍 Willow Springs – 9:00 AM
📍 West Plains – 2:00 PM

Participants can choose the route that works best for them:

🏃 Map 1 – 5K Route
Our full color run/walk experience for runners and walkers who want the complete course.

👨‍👩‍👧 Map 2 – 1-Mile Route
A shorter, stroller and wheelchair-friendly option for families and participants who prefer a smaller distance.

🎽 Register by March 30 to guarantee your Color Run/Walk t-shirt!
Participants can still register after that date, but t-shirt availability cannot be guaranteed.

Every step helps support local children and families, helping provide opportunities for connection, inclusion, and growth.

Services offered

Children’s Behavioral Services, LLC provides Applied Behavior Analysis services to individuals in Howell county and the surrounding counties. These services include


  • Early intensive ABA (applied behavior analysis) intervention programs in the home for children with autism and related developmental disabilities to teach language, academic, social, and adaptive behavior skills.

  • Functional behavior assessment and behavior plan development

  • Behavior consultation in school, community, employment and home settings to reduce behaviors of concern, teach appropriate and meaningful replacement behaviors, and facilitate increased independence in all areas of life.
