Rock Hill Plantation was located on the northeast branch of the Cape Fear River beside Rose Hill Plantation (see map). Today the structural evidence of the plantation has been wiped clean. Follow Rock Hill road today and you’ll end up either at a wealthy gated community or the beginnings of another (see photo). Despite the lack of buildings and clear documentation, Rock Hill has not vanished. In fact, Rock Hill is very much alive.
