The LA Marathon & 5k weekend was one I’ll never forget. 🤍

Los Angeles has always felt like a second home to me. My parents are from here, my grandparents built their lives here, and growing up we spent so much time here. Coming back for this race felt incredibly special and a little nostalgic after so many years of memories here.

The weekend started with the 5K, and while it wasn’t a PR, it was a solid effort. I finished in the top 10%, and my parents also completed it! I’m so proud of them!

And as for the marathon… LA did not make it easy. The elevation gain and 85°+ temps were no joke. But I’m happy to report I did not take the 18-mile cutoff and ran the full 26.2 😂 After running the Surf City Marathon 5 weeks ago, my goal for this one was simple: finish and have fun. I walked, I ran, I took in the sights, and completed the race.

Grateful for the miles, the memories, and the time with family this weekend. LA will always have a piece of my heart. 🏁💛

Spent the morning pacing my friend and running coaching client, DeAnna, on her first half marathon!! 🤍

There is something so special about a first 13.1.

The early mornings.
The long runs when your legs feel heavy.
The doubt that creeps in halfway through a training cycle.
The discipline to keep showing up anyway.

Training for a half marathon isn’t just about building endurance. It’s about building belief.

It’s choosing consistency over convenience.
It’s honoring recovery when you’d rather skip it.
It’s trusting the process on the days you don’t see progress.

And then race day comes…
The nerves.
The adrenaline.
The quiet “can I really do this?” at the start line.

And 13.1 miles later, you have proof that you can!

Pacing her today was an absolute honor. Watching someone accomplish something they once thought felt intimidating will never get old.

Your first half marathon changes you.
And I’m so proud of you, DeAnna 🤍

If a half marathon is on your heart this year, this is your reminder: you are capable of more than you think! You can do hard things!!

And that’s a wrap on the 2026 ! 🤍

I went into this race with A, B, C and D goals and I honestly felt really hopeful about my A goal leading up to this morning.

About halfway through, I had to pivot.
And you know what? That matters.

I crossed the finish line with what I’ll call a B- goal, and I’m incredibly proud of it. I earned every single minute of my 3.5 minute PR, learned a lot about myself as a runner (as I do literally every race 😂), and met some amazing people along the way.

This race was a reminder that success isn’t always about forcing Plan A. It’s about adapting, listening to your body, and still showing up with grit and gratitude.

Also… huge proud kid moment 🥹
My parents both did the 5K, PR’d, and hit their A goals. Watching them cross the finish line was just as special as running the marathon myself.

Grateful for a body that lets me do hard things, long miles, and gets me to start lines like this. On to the next one ✨

This is why I do what I do 💚

Kimberly came to me 6ish months ago dealing with shin splints that kept derailing her training. She was frustrated, nervous about building mileage, and honestly? A little skeptical that anything would actually work.

Fast forward to this weekend: She just PRed her half marathon by 15 MINUTES. Zero shin splint flare-ups. Two successful training cycles. And a whole lot of confidence in her body’s ability to handle the work.

The difference? We didn’t just rest and hope for the best.

We:
→ Built the strength her body was missing
→ Incorporated smart speed work
→ Focused on recovery that actually works
→ Treated the root cause, not just the symptoms

Kimberly, I’m SO proud of you for showing up, trusting the process, and doing the hard work even when it wasn’t easy.

CONGRATULATIONS! This is YOUR win 🙌

Chilly morning. Perfect pace. Even better company! ☕️

Paces the 15k this morning for and came in at a 10:58 average mile (pretty much nailed that 11:00 pace if I do say so myself 😉)

But honestly? The best part wasn’t the pace. It was running alongside some of my friends and meeting some new running friends. The conversations. The encouragement. The shared miles.

That’s what running is really about. Showing up for each other, one mile at a time.

Who else raced this weekend??

This morning I had the honor of pacing the Spooky Sprint Half Marathon and wow, the stories out on that course reminded me exactly why I love this sport. 🧡👟

My pace partner and I met a runner in his 80s who routinely runs half and full marathons (yes, you read that right — 80s!). We also met a runner in his 60s who had a heart attack while running a few years ago. After his recovery, he laced his shoes back up and runs 15Ks, half marathons, and full marathons. Talk about resilience!

These runners are living proof that running isn’t just about speed or medals: it’s about determination, community, and the simple joy of being out there, one foot in front of the other.

And a huge shoutout to my friend Kimberly, who walk-ran the 10K today! 🎉 It doesn’t matter your pace or your approach. Showing up, moving forward, and crossing that finish line is what it’s all about!

As someone who works with injury-prone runners, I’m constantly reminded that comebacks come in all forms. Whether you’re rebuilding after an injury, an illness, or a setback, your story matters. Your strength inspires others more than you know.

What an honor it is to pace, to cheer, and to witness the unstoppable spirit of runners at every stage of life and recovery. 🏃‍♀️💜

💜 Post-Race Reflection: Chicago Marathon 2025

This training cycle tested me in ways I didn’t expect.

For months, I’ve been running with iron deficiency — something I now realize was likely affecting me the entire cycle. Despite taking oral iron supplements for two months, my ferritin (iron stores) actually dropped. Just a week before race day, I was able to get a last-minute iron infusion through , and I’m so grateful for their help getting my levels back up in time to even toe the line in Chicago.

Race day was hard from the start. My heart rate was high, I felt emotional before I even crossed the start line, and nausea stuck with me for most of the race. It wasn’t the day I trained for — but I finished. And after everything this training cycle has thrown my way, I’m incredibly proud of that.

I couldn’t have done this alone.

💜 To my dietitian, — thank you for being such a rockstar provider, for every text, every check-in, and for helping me navigate this iron journey with patience and care. I wouldn’t have made it without you.

💜 To my husband, parents, sister-in-law and family — thank you for coming to Chicago and running your own marathon as spectators. You made me feel seen every single mile.

💜 To my O’Fallon Ladies on the Run crew — you all carried me through every long run, every tough morning, and every mental wall. Your support and friendship mean more than you know.

💜 And to every friend who sent good luck messages or checked on me afterward — your words and love reminded me how lucky I am to have such a strong community behind me.

This race may not have been my best on paper, but it was one of my proudest finishes yet.

Because sometimes the real victory isn’t the time on the clock — it’s finding the strength to keep showing up, even when your body and mind are tired.

10/12/2025

Chicago, you were emotional in every sense of the word. 🏙️💜

It wasn’t my day — but it also wasn’t my worst. The race didn’t unfold the way I hoped, but I’m incredibly proud of the fight I brought and the strength it took to cross that finish line.

Running for the Alzheimer’s Association and in memory of my grandmother hit me hard — in the best, most humbling way. Every cheer, every mile, every ache in my legs reminded me why I was out there.

Some races give you a PR. Others give you perspective.
This one gave me both gratitude and purpose.

Proud. Emotional. Humbled.
And already dreaming of what’s next. 💜

Thank you Chicago!!

’Twas the night before race day, and all through Chicago,
Runners were resting, their hearts all aglow.

The shoes were all lined up, the gels in their place,
The nerves and excitement danced a fast-paced race.

Tomorrow, I’ll toe the line at the Chicago Marathon — running in memory of my grandmother and in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. 💜

This training cycle has been full of lessons in patience, resilience, and gratitude. Every mile has been a reminder of why I run — not just for the finish line, but for the why behind it.

Tomorrow, I’ll carry my grandmother’s memory with me through every neighborhood, every cheer zone, and every step toward that finish line.

Here’s to celebrating the journey, honoring those we love, and running with purpose. 💜

Let’s do this, Chicago! 🏃‍♀️✨
