You know those nights where you stay up late, spending time with friends or family, catching up, having fun, relaxing and EATING? Often waking up still full, maybe bloated, maybe a little sad. ☺️ First of all, it is okay. It’s one day of your life.

Last night I had the amazing opportunity to hang out with my best friend and catch up on life, relax and enjoy each other’s company. We also ATE a large three course meal, followed by 11 pm pound cake, ALL the whipped cream, chocolate and berries.

Today, instead of beating myself up, I am feeling grateful for my fun evening with one of my favorite people, but I am also moving on with my life. Yes I woke up full, but I am human and my hunger will come back.

I have lots of people ask me about late night eating. My view is that if you’re hungry, you need to eat no matter what time of day. And if your late night eating is due to enjoying life, traditions or having fun with friends or family, then go for it. The most important thing is to not beat yourself up for it, and tune in to your body. If you wake up in the morning hungry, eat- do NOT “punish” yourself for the late night snack. If you wake up still full and not feeling great, drink some water and go for a walk.

It’ll all be okay. Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed. 😊💗
