Please consider picking up an extra item or two on your shopping trips.
Thousands of students in Delaware experience homelessness each year.
And that, in turn, creates a number of secondary barriers to their success, from food insecurity to stress and anxiety over their lack of access to basic household items.
That is why college students in our unionโs Aspiring Educators program have launched a collection drive for toiletry items that will be delivered to students experiencing homelessness prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
If you are able, please consider donating shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes, deodorant, body wash, soap, socks and other items to this worthwhile cause.
Several drop-off locations are available, including the Education and Humanities Building at Delaware State University, Delaware Techโs George Campus in Wilmington, or DSEAโs offices in Dover and Newark.
If you have questions or need assistance making a donation, please email DSEA Member Programs Coordinator Tammy Wagner at tammy.wagner@dsea.org or DSEA Aspiring Educators Secretary Jailyn Boseman at jailynbosemanhowie@icloud.com.
