🪔Happy Deepavali to all yogis/ yoginis and spiritual seekers 🪔
Deepavali, is celebrated on the new moon night (Amavasya) in the lunar month of Karthika, symbolizing the victory of good over evil on the previous day of Naraka Chaturdhasi ( 14th day of the waning moon).
Diwali is much more than a festival of lights or listening the ancient stories of Rama killing Ravana and Satyabhama & Krishna killing narskasura ; it holds a profound spiritual symbolism to respect women and to kill 14 akusala chetika within and light up 16 kala .
14 Akusala Chetika (unwholesome attributes of mind / unconscious negative states) - delusion, moral shamelessness, moral fearlessness, restlessness, greed, wrong perception, conceit,hatred/anger, envy, jealousy, remorse, sloth, torpor, and skepticism) .
16,000 refers to releasing 16 imprisoned Kala ( Devine attributes of consciousness ) of compassion, patience, forgiveness, justice, impartiality, detachment, spirituality, invincibility, truthfulness, honesty, contentment, and peace!
🧘A wonderful day to set intention and make conscious effort to overcome the 14 Akusala Chetika and improve 16 Kala; on this day and every day ! Personally, I set a small intention about self improvement in this path on Diwali and practice a Mandalam (approx 42 -45 days ) until the following full moon 🧘
