One thing I’m romanticizing this month is the ripple effect!

Every investment into myself, my business, my continuing education not only benefits me but it benefits every mom I work with! It benefits the next generation of motherly leaders!

The universe is full of abundance but if the universe feels a little too big right now let’s think about the ocean…

Just like a drop of water ripples and touches every other drop of water in the ocean, there is always more water in the ocean! If you remove one drop of water from the ocean at a time, there will always be another drop! This is abundance!

The same abundance we find in nature we find in ourselves! I know you’re thinking, Amanda, what in the world does this have to do with breastfeeding???

We are abundant! Breastmilk is abundant! If you remove one drop of breastmilk, there will always be another drop!

I know they told you about the flipple technique but what you actually need is to let your baby experience the breast crawl completely uninterrupted!

That means only skin to skin with mom for the first couple of hours! No wiping, no diapers, no clothes, no pricks, no measuring. Just uninterrupted biology doing its thing!

Let’s break it down ⬇️

1: Birth Cry: Air fills your baby’s lungs for the first time and their instincts kick in! Baby is hopefully caught by mom or dad and immediately placed on mom’s belly or chest depending on cord length.

2: Relaxation: Being skin to skin with mom regulates baby’s heart rate, breathing, and temperature allowing baby to fully relax and be still.

3: Awakening: After a few minutes baby will begin to open their eyes and move their head and shoulders.

4: Activity: After about 5 minutes baby’s movements will become stronger and their rooting reflex will kick in.

5: Crawling: After about 35 minutes of skin to skin baby will start moving their arms and legs as if crawling to approach the breast and ni**le.

6: Resting: This stage may repeat itself several times in the first hours. The baby will alternate between a few minutes of activity and a few minutes of rest.

7: Familiarization: Baby familiarizes themself with the breast and ni**le by using their hands, mouth, and licking the ni**le. They do this for about 30 minutes.

8: Suckling: Baby will latch and begin to suckle. In an undisturbed birth and uninterrupted golden hour this usually happens around the 1 hour mark.

9: Restful Sleep: Baby falls into a restful sleep a couple of hours after birth and mom is usually ready for some rest too!

These first couple of hours are filled with so many magical moments when uninterrupted!

This one tip will save you so much time!!!

Share it with your caregivers!

Here’s my pro tip:

Your pumped milk that you store in the fridge… it doesn’t need to be warmed up! Just give it a little shake and it’s ready for baby!

No need to let baby scream while they wait for the sink to warm up or the bottle warmer to do its thing!

Bonus tip: Make sure your caregivers know how to properly pace feed! If they don’t, I’m ready to teach them! (Dads and Grandparents: this includes you!)

Here’s how the next 12 months might look if you’re a breastfeeding mom… 👀

You might be chugging more water than usual… all of that oxytocin makes you thirsty!

You might be planning your outfits based on the easiest way to access your boobs…

You might be planning outings around when baby eats or when you need to pump…

You could eat a whole pizza and still be hungry…

Tell me you’re a breastfeeding mom without telling me you’re a breastfeeding mom ⬇️

Be your own Valentine 💝

Here’s a vulnerable moment for me…

I rarely feel anxiety so when I do it catches me off guard.

When you are a mom with multiple kids with special needs surgeries become pretty common.

You become desensitized and you handle them really well. You become a pro at making your kids feel the hospital is a fun place to be.

You are their strength. You are their comfort.

Like most moms, the quiet of the night is when the anxiety begins to creep in…

All moms experience anxiety at one point or another… we’re human!

Here’s what I do and I know it’ll help you too:

💝I get my lumebox out
💝I practice switch nostril breathing or box breathing
💝I tense and relax one body part at a time taking time to actually feel
💝I repeat this mantra in my head: Anxiety is a liar.

Shame is an internal feeling not something that you do to someone or that is done to you!

So celebrate your first latch!

Celebrate your oversupply with twins!

Celebrate your 3 year journey or 1 year journey!

Celebrate your tablespoon of 3 billion white blood cells!

Celebrate mothering through breastfeeding!

Celebrate breastfeeding every day! When you celebrate breastfeeding, you celebrate life!

“Anxious? Wired but exhausted? Before blaming your hormones… read this 🧂👇”

Everyone talks about vitamin D in winter.
They talk about vitamin D during pregnancy and postpartum.

But almost no one is talking about sodium.

Motherhood, postpartum, and winter are all seasons of chronic sodium loss.

And here’s the part most people miss:
Sodium depletion is a cycle.
Stress depletes sodium → low sodium triggers cortisol → cortisol keeps you stuck in fight-or-flight.

Mothers are endurance athletes.
Growing a human. Giving birth. Breastfeeding. Sleepless nights.
That is sustained, high-output labor.

Endurance athletes know sodium is non-negotiable.
Moms need to know this too.

Sodium helps regulate blood pressure, fluid balance, and hormones.
When sodium drops, cortisol rises — and anxiety shows up.

Racing thoughts.
Hypervigilance.
Panic.
Overstimulation.
Fatigue.
Extreme thirst.
Dizziness.
Burnout.

Low sodium = high cortisol = constant survival mode.

The takeaway:
Your nervous system doesn’t just need rest.
It needs sodium 🧂
