A snow day can be fun or cozy — but it can also bring a few extra challenges for seniors. ❄️

Please remember these two important tips for safety today:

1️⃣ Prevent falls – Avoid going outside if possible. Make sure walkways and steps are cleared and salted, and wear non-slip footwear if you must step out.

2️⃣ Stay warm safely – Keep indoor temperatures comfortable and avoid using ovens or unsafe heaters for warmth. Layer clothing and keep blankets nearby.

If you’re a neighbor to a senior, consider checking in as the day goes on. Offering to help shovel a path, share a warm cup of tea, or simply spend a few minutes together can make all the difference.

A little kindness and preparation go a long way in keeping our seniors safe, warm, and comfortable during winter storms. ❄️💙❄️
