On November 4, 2024, Trevick woke up with new onset seizures. Emergency care was sought and, ultimately, Trevick’s condition required the higher level of care at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Parents, Dillon and Lexi remained a steady constant at Trevick’s side as the medical team tested and searched for answers. After some time and observations, Trevick was given the diagnosis of Febrile Infection-Related Epilepsy Syndrome or FIRES.
This seizure disorder affects a previously healthy child after a brief, nonspecific fever illness, such as a common cold or flu. FIRES is so rare and affects only 1 in a MILLION children.
Trevick has been resilient through treatments and therapies and is preparing for discharge soon (February 2025)!
Follow this page for updates on Trevick’s journey and facts about FIRES so we can grow awareness for this rare and life-altering epilepsy condition. 💜🧠💙
