2009 was one of not worse wreck in Brewer’s career at Freedom

Few Funny stories about this night. The sprint cars were ar Freedom that night and we were jokijg who would be leaving the park. Well not one sprint got upside down so the Brewer had to show them how to do it.

Chris ran on the track and got to him in turn 1 before anyone and was asking Al if he was ok. The EMT arrived and kept asking him the same question and then asked Al Whats your name Al Of course he responded with Al The EMT said he is fine 😂🤦🏻‍♂️.

Continuing on the funny business in the ambulance he was questioned and his daughter Liz relayed these to me. Al do you know what day it is? Al responded. Race Day. Al do you know the President …. No but he is black (Obama was President at the time). Al do you know where you at ? Al…. Tri County (placed hadn’t been name Tri County since the late 80s 😂

Of course the crew at the time we were all bunch of young adults and kids, so we got car loaded hauled ass back to Belfast. I call his mom Lois and told her. She said I was for ya here. She was all calm about the entire thing.

Last funny story of the night. When they took him into the ER, nurse commented. Well, I guess that ends your season! Al quickly responds, NOPE. That’s why I have two cars 😂

Today would been Lois Brewer 89th birthday. She is always missed by the family and we thank her and Fran in getting Al involved in our sport 55 years ago. Happy Birthday in Heaven Lois.
