I bet you didn't know that....

I transformed my body twice and I transformed my Life!  I changed everything! I reinvented myself!

Yrs ago, I gained 20lbs from hormone meds I had to take because me & my husband at the time were trying to have a baby. But I started working out with a trainer and over time I lost that weight.

Then I walked away from a 17-yr career,  with no plan of finding another similar job. It was going to be a career change, but I didn't know what it was gonna be.

In that same year, I filed for divorce with the man I was with for over 10 years.

After losing the 20 lbs, I ended up losing too much weight and got down to 110 lbs!  My normal weight has always been around 125. 
So I got super focused with my weightlifting and diet. I was eating more calories, I increased my intake of protein, and I put on the muscle that I wanted and I ended up doing 2 competitions.

Going back to that career change…. as I was immersing myself into my own training at the gym and deciding to compete, I ended up finding my next path. I became a personal trainer and a nutrition coach. It was aligned with my values of fitness and nutrition, so it just made sense. 

In this reinvention (before I became a trainer and a coach) I was feeling lost, I lost my identity, I didn't know what my place was in the world. I felt overwhelmed at all the things that I thought I needed to do.   I was doubting myself, and I was over-thinking everything. 

Let me just tell you…. Reinventing yourself takes great courage, honesty, & humility.  It takes vulnerability.  It takes grit.  We need to take 100% responsibility over our thoughts and beliefs.  And it takes patience & faith.

I know what it takes to reinvent ourselves. I know what it takes to change our bodies. I know what it takes to lose the 20 lbs and I know what it takes to put on 10 pounds of muscle! 

I know what it takes to find our place in the world, and to feel like we're living our best life! 

It all starts with being honest with ourselves regarding what areas of our life we're settling, what areas do we want to improve? And what could it look like if you lived every area of your life on your own terms?

The hardest, yet most important work we need to do is take responsibility for the stories we're telling ourselves and to consciously direct our attention onto the things that make us feel grateful, peaceful, joyful, excited, etc.
There's a tendency (at least for me) to let myself fall into thought patterns that don't serve me, such as self-doubt, not feeling good enough, worrisome thoughts of the future... and I gotta put that s**t in check because they don't make me feel good, they make me feel small, and they take my power away. And letting myself be in that low vibration pushes good things and good people away.

I can't stress how incredibly important it is for us to do the work, take charge of our thoughts and narrate a story of heroism... be the fu***ng hero and the star in your life, because nobody can do that for you....Advice to self!

Take a chance on yourself. Give yourself a chance to experience new things, new places, new people, new skills. Follow your interests, your curiosities, and have faith that you will be okay no matter what. It's never too late, and it's never too early.
Your mind and the thoughts you choose to believe is the only thing that will get in the way of you living your fullest and best life ever... it will be the only thing that stops you from living up to your potential.
Be mindful of how you might be blocking the flow toward your true self, toward your innate excellence. 💜🙏

Happy - I woke up this morning at 4am, didn't hit snooze on my alarm, prayed, set my intentions to have a good day, and got ready for the day feeling good! Today is a good day because I'm choosing for it to be good!
Our experiences are due to the choice we're making, consciously or unconsciously. I choose to be conscious. It's not always easy though. Some days it's harder for me because I'm not feeling well or because I didn't get enough sleep, but I try not to judge myself for it, and I keep practicing getting back into a state of joy and gratitude. Joy, optimism, love, gratitude, and peace are all just practices.

One of the most powerful things about weight lifting and resistance training is that it can train you to be stronger mentally and emotionally. When we struggle with something in our lives, we're essentially experiencing resistance towards it or something.
Resistance comes in the form of judgment, attack, blame, doubt, worry, anger, frustration, feeling sorry for yourself, etc.
We want to get stronger at not letting the resistance rule our lives, our experiences, our behaviors, our moods, etc. We need to get ahead of the resistance and let it go. The resistance is what makes us tired, weak, & negative.
But the resistance is there for a reason, it's there to make us more aware of our walls, our barriers to love and excellence, and we will only get stronger when we push thru and choose to let it go. So any resistance you may be experiencing, acknowledge it, and choose acceptance, forgiveness, love, and/or peace instead.

The mind is an incredibly powerful thing.... and if we're not actively observing it and directing the thoughts & feeling...

The mind is an incredibly powerful thing.... and if we're not actively observing it and directing the thoughts & feelings we're having, then we're at the whim of our past and conditioning.

We've gotta be proactive in choosing the story we're telling ourselves. How are we narrating our experiences, how are we choosing to perceive our circumstances, the people in our life, their actions, our own actions, etc? Taking control of our perceptions and not relying on what others might be thinking is a super power.
I've done a lot of work in letting go of what others might be thinking of me, and I still have work to do. I still care so much about what people think of me that it sometimes gets in the way of living in my truth. I choose to let go of the GOOP, the Good Opinion Of Others (as calls it) and be as authentic as possible, living up to my potential and being brutally honest with myself and others.

You know what the number one thing we can do to boost our self confidence and life satisfaction?? By following thru on our commitments to ourselves (& others), by doing what we say we're gonna do, especially if it's something for ourselves that nobody knows about. It's so powerful when we stay focused on our priorities, our intentions, our goals, our ambitions and take actions on those things even when we don't want to or when we don't feel like it, or when it's scary or uncomfortable.
I have built up such a strong practice of following thru on my commitments which has catapulted my self-confidence and general life satisfaction. I try to be super careful in what I choose to say yes to, what I commit to because I don't want to let myself down.
Sure, it helps to look good and feel good physically too, but having a great body doesn't give you long-term fulfillment, it's adopting habits that are important to you that feeds your degree of confidence & level of satisfaction.
