Last week, we were excited to welcome some of the team from Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island at our West Warwick health center. They stopped by to present us with a certificate for Thundermist’s high-level performance on four different quality measures, including: Follow-Up Care for Children Prescribed ADHD Medications Initiation Phase (West Warwick); Follow-Up After ER Visit for Alcohol and Other Drug Dependence Within 7 Days of Discharge, as well as Within 30 Days of Discharge (South County); and Prenatal Depression Screening and Follow-Up (Woonsocket).

We’re so proud of the Thundermist team for this achievement and the care they show all of our patients every day. Pictured from NHPRI with some of our staff on hand to accept the certificate are Joe Horne, Quality Improvement Specialist, Amie Ashegh, Quality Improvement Specialist – Behavioral Health, and Deb Rainha, Director, QI Stars Strategy. Thanks to them for taking the time to visit!

We wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the funders who have made Rolling Thunder, our new mobile medical unit, a reality: UnitedHealthcare, the Champlin Foundation, and Chartercare Foundation.

Because of you, we can expand access to critically needed care beyond health center walls and meet patients where they’re at—both literally and figuratively. The ability to be out and about in communities we serve and remove barriers to healthcare is truly special.

Rolling Thunder is open to everyone and no appointment is needed. You can simply walk onboard and receive a variety of services, including basic checkups and health screenings, counseling, help with insurance enrollment, referrals to specialists, and more.

The current schedule includes parking at the following partner locations weekly:

--With Shower to Empower at Thundermist of West Warwick – Tuesdays 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
--Jonnycake Center for Hope in Peace Dale - Wednesdays 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.
--Connecting Children & Families in Woonsocket – Thursdays 1-3 p.m.
--West Warwick Public Library - Fridays 10 a.m.- 12 p.m.

You can learn more about Rolling Thunder at www.thundermisthealth.org/services/mobile-medical-unit/. 🚐💙

As we head into the last week of American Heart Month, it's a great moment to talk a bit more about self-care. We can tend to think of self-care being things like spa days, but really it can be some of the simplest, easiest things that positively affect your heart health. Maybe it's spending time with friends and family with no real plan. Maybe it's reading a book for a little while, or taking a nap or a walk when the weather is good. It could even be spending five minutes taking long, deep breaths to relax. No matter what it is, it helps your heart! ❤

You can find more self-care ideas here: www.nhlbi.nih.gov/sites/default/files/publications/SelfCareTips-for-HeartHealth-508.pdf.
