Today in Worthington, ICE arrested an individual whose background would suggest he was not a specific target for arrest. ICE’s tactic of opportunistic arrest — ie approaching a person of color who is outside and alone — is unlawful.

Thankfully, José’s family is connected to legal support in the Twin Cities that will advocate for his release from custody.

I want to share something straight from my heart.

Right now, my Hispanic community is facing some really hard moments. Because of that, I’m choosing to slow down just a little so I can give more of my time and energy to supporting people who may need help, guidance, or simply someone to show up for them.

This isn’t goodbye—just a small pause.
