One of the most magical things about soap is how the natural herbs and clays change color, sometimes quite drastically, as saponification occurs.

This is the same seaweed-green Sea Witch Soap that I posted just a few days ago. It will continue to transform into this soothing ocean blue color over the next few weeks, thanks to the powdered indigo plant that we used as the colorant.

Confession Time: I don't always remember to move quickly enough when scaling up my batch sizes, so I'm racing to make those pretty soap tops that everyone knows and loves, before the soap becomes too solid to work with!

I recently got curious about the history of soap stamping, and was surprised to learn that stamping has been done since antiquity.

Back then, think like 2800 BC, the stamp was essential to denote pure soap, and even to convey information about its ingredients, guaranteeing the quality of the soap.

It wasn't until the Victorian era that stamping became more about brand names and company logos.

We love the process of stamping our bars, and you can be sure that our ingredients are thoughtful and pure, just like in ancient Egypt.

This bar is brand new! It's a triple avocado 🥑 🥑 🥑 (fresh puree, butter, and oil!) bar, with a light lime-spearmint scent, and an imbedded loofah slice to get you exfoliated and ready for spring. 🌱 ☀️
