Natural Medicine: Listening with Heart, Healing with Hands

Thank you for joining me as I continue to walk this beautiful journey, we refer to as life. I’m so happy that our paths have crossed. After all, everything happens with purpose.

My name is Adrienne. When I become the vessel that allows your body to speak through me, most call me Dria. In 2015 my life was given new purpose. I became a mother to a beautiful baby boy. As my journey shifted into motherhood, I felt called to find a new path that would allow my schedule more flexibility to be apart of the life I had created and brought into this world. This is when the medicine woman within came to life. I returned to school to pursue the path of medicine.

I am a Finger Lakes School of Massage graduate and American Massage Therapy Association member that grew up in Central New York. My pursuit first began in medicine as I began studying to become a Registered Nurse. It did not take long into this path of medicine for me to realize that my soul just simply did not align with the teachings of western medicine. Instead, in my soul, I felt called to a more natural approach. I began to look into different healing techniques and that is when I discovered the wonderful healing of Reiki and massage. Soon after, I began diving completely into the healing opportunities through the simplicity of touch. As I embarked in studying of these techniques, my soul came to life. I felt more alive, more aligned in my purpose in this existence, then ever before. Massage came naturally to me. Through the sense of touch, it was as if I found a way in communicating from body to body that had been long forgotten. With each individual that I had the privilege to work with, my passion for this modality continued to grow. With every massage, my confidence and originality of technique expanded.

During my journey, I had visions of blending my Reiki energy healing and massage in tandem. While expressing my desire to combine Reiki and massage therapy, my peers and colleagues discouraged the idea because they could not understand how it could be accomplished. Against their advice, I felt it was my duty to step into healing in this capacity. I felt called to help assist the physical body as well as the energetic systems together, so that the whole mechanism of our human component could become more balanced. After graduating, and working in a Spa setting, I found a home that allowed me to blend my techniques and continue to allow the natural progression of my gifts in healing through natural medicine. The feedback I was receiving from my peers, my boss, as well as my new clients, were full of praise. Most expressed “you have such a gift,” “this was the best massage I've ever had,” and “you are such a talented and natural healer.” One very special individual who found me at the Spa after injuring his lower back had worked with a number of chiropractors, physical therapists, and doctors in his home of Alaska. It wasn’t until our work together that he felt any relief or progression in healing from his impairment. While his stay at the spa, he requested two healing sessions with me, one for his wife, and also booked another session two months in advance, as he planned to return from Alaska and continue a regime of therapeutic massage with me.
