Plessen's location at Sunny Isles remains open for Primary Care. We are providing same day or next day appointments for acute needs of our established patients. These can be made by telephone or in person.

Please note that we no longer provide Urgent Care walk-in services.

We also no longer provide Lab services. Kindly take your lab request to a local laboratory of your choice.

Dear valued community members,



It is with a heavy heart that we announce that will be discontinuing Urgent Care and Lab draw services at our Sunny Isles location.



Despite our dedicated efforts, we have experienced insurmountable financial strain due to difficulties obtaining timely and adequate reimbursements from insurance payers as well as significant increase in costs for supplies for these services.



We understand the impact this may have on our community, and we sincerely apologize that we will no longer be able to provide these services to our community. Your support has meant the world to us, and we are grateful for the opportunity to have served you.



The Sunny Isles facility will remain open for our existing and future Plessen Primary Care patients.

We are making every effort to maintain access to care for your various needs. We will be offering same day and next day appointments dependent on availability with one of our Primary Care providers for any acute or sick visit needs that may arise.

Meet Dr. Madel Balagtas Villegas, a dedicated advocate for underserved communities in the Virgin Islands! 🇵🇭 Born in the Philippines, she understands the struggles of inadequate medical care firsthand, fueling her passion for medicine.

Her journey led her to St. Thomas in 1998, where she attended the American University of the Caribbean Medical School.

Specializing in family medicine, she honed her skills at the University of New Mexico and completed the Family Medicine Residency Program in rural New Mexico.

In 2011, she returned to St. Thomas, serving at the East End Medical Center for a decade before moving to St. Croix. An avid tennis player and golf enthusiast, she's an active member of her community.

For the past three years, Dr. Villegas has provided exceptional patient care to the St. Croix community at Frederiksted Health Care.

As a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician, Dr. Villegas is excited to continue her mission with Plessen HealthCare, ensuring quality medical care for the Virgin Islands community.

Appointments are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8 am to 4 pm at both Orange Grove and Sunny Isles locations.
