A few weeks ago, I had a patient who was 10 months postpartum.
Her main complaint was pain with s*x, slight leaking of urine with coughing or sneezing, and a small pelvic organ prolapse. This was her second va**nal delivery.
She said “things just weren’t feeling right down there.”
After only one treatment session and doing her at home program, she said she could feel increased libido 🙌, and she could notice her core muscles again when lifting and moving things 💪.

Something that could seem so insignificant can have such a monumental impact! I know that this momma experienced a turning point in her postpartum healing. ❤️
She now had someone explain to her what her pelvic floor was, what happened to her pelvic floor and core muscles during birth, and that it’s okay to not feel ready being intimate w her partner.
The first few visits, my goal is to bring awareness and gentle activation to the pelvic floor and core. ❤️ This increases blood flow to the area, it reconnects our mind-body connection to this area, and it sends signals of safety ❤️ to your brain that it is now okay to use this area again.
This treatment scenario is so common for my postpartum mommas. Don’t fret if you get the go-ahead from your doctor at your 6 week check up, but you don’t feel ready for s*x or the rush to “get back to normal”. A little love and body connection goes a looooong way ❤️.
