Keep feet healthy with these tips

Wearing shoes all day or walking around barefoot can be hard on the feet. Keep feet clean and free of bacteria with these tips:

👟 Keep feet dry - Fungal infections thrive in warm, moist conditions. Wear shoes made of breathable material, wear moisture-wicking socks, and always allow shoes to air out after every wear.

👟 Avoid walking barefoot - It’s the easiest way to pick up fungal and bacterial infections.

👟 Change socks and shoes regularly - Feet contain sweat glands and shoes and socks absorb much of the moisture from feet, which can spread bacteria and fungus’. Avoid wearing the same shoes over and over, and ensure socks are always clean and dry.

👟 Check feet regularly - Checking the hands and skin on the body is quite common, but feet often get left out. Checking feet regularly helps to catch any issues early on and can prevent further complications and infections.

Is garlic a good anti-fungal?

It’s been said to keep vampires away, but turns out that garlic can also keep fungus away.

This is due to two powerful compounds: ajoene and allicin. The former is an organosulfur compound that has been shown to kill a variety of fungal infections, while the latter exhibits potent antibacterial and anti-fungal properties.

Make a paste with crushed garlic and mix with coconut oil (also an anti-fungal). Apply a thin later to the affected area and cover with gauze for 2 hours before rinsing. Use up to 2 times per day.

If you haven’t invested in a bottle of tea tree oil, it’s time to do so. Most conventional over-the-counter antifungals work, but they cause irritation and can sometimes do more harm than good.

Why take the risk if there’s something just as powerful for clearing up nail fungus and completely natural?

Research shows that pure tea tree oil is effective for inhibiting growth of certain strains of fungus when applied directly to the affected area. It improved symptoms of scaling, itching, and inflammation. 🔥🔥

🔥 BEST WAYS TO BOOST YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM 🔥

Given the current circumstances, having a strong immune system is critical to staying healthy and avoiding any sort of infection. Do these things daily to boost your immunity and keep your body functioning like it’s supposed to!

➡️ EXERCISE. Physical activity increases flow of blood and lymph fluid due to muscle contractions, thereby also increasing the circulation of immune cells, making them roam the body at a higher rate and in higher numbers.

➡️ SLEEP ENOUGH. Sleep is critical for a strong immune system. During sleep, specific cytokines are released that help to combat infection or inflammation, but when the body is sleep deprived, release of these protective compounds decreases, increasing susceptibility to illness.

➡️ EAT SOME HONEY. Raw manuka honey has a ton of anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-parasitic properties. Drizzle is on your food or plop a little bit into your tea or coffee.

➡️ TRY A COLD PLUNGE (OR SHOWER). Evidence suggests that a cold plunge, or even just a cold shower, increases concentration and activity of immune cells.

➡️ DITCH THE SUGAR. Sugar suppresses the immune system, so if you’re looking to fight off that cold or foot fungus, sugar isn’t going to be your friend. Swap the sugar in your coffee for a natural alternative like stevia or monk fruit, find better alternatives for refined grains (yes, they break down into sugar), and say no to that donut (although every once in a while it won’t kill you).

Whether you’re wearing shoes all day or walking around bare feet, it’s hard to keep your feet clean and free of bacteria. Here’s how to stay away from fungal infections:

👣 Keep your feet dry - Fungal infections thrive in warm, moist conditions. Wear shoes made of breathable material, wear moisture-wicking socks, and always allow your shoes to air out after every wear.

👣 Avoid walking barefoot - It’s the easiest way to pick up fungal and bacterial infections. If you need to, ensure you’re washing and drying your feet properly afterwards.

👣 Change your socks and shoes regularly - Your feet have sweat glands and your shoes and socks absorb any moisture from your feet, which can spread bacteria and fungus’. Avoid wearing the same shoes over and over, and ensure you’re wearing clean, dry socks.

👣 Treat your feet - Aside from getting a pedicure regularly (whether you’re male or female), it’s important to take care of your feet. Fungus enters the body through cracks in your feet. To avoid this, use a pumice regularly to smooth out your feet and remove dead, cracked skin.

👣 Pay attention to them - Most people pay attention to their hands and skin on the body, but who actually looks at their feet regularly? If you don’t, start! Catching any issues early can prevent further complications and infections.

TOP 5 NATURAL ANTI-FUNGALS

Sure, over-the-counter medications work wonders for dealing with fungal infections, but why spend the money when you probably have anti-fungals right in your own home?

1️⃣ Garlic: It’s been said to keep vampires away, but turns out it also keeps fungus away. This is due to the powerful compound, ajoene, an organosulfur compound that has been shown to kill a variety of fungal infections. Make a paste with crushed garlic and mix with coconut oil. Apply a thin later to the affected area and cover with gauze for 2 hours before rinsing. Use up to 2 times per day.

2️⃣ Undecylenic acid (castor oil): Undecylenic acid is an unsaturated fatty acid derived from castor oil. It’s a powerful antifungal that helps to inhibit growth of fungus’ and biofilm formation (biofilms prevent antifungals from getting through).

3️⃣ Coconut oil: As a rich source of caprylic acid, coconut oil is great for killing fungal infections due to its ability to rupture their cell membranes. Apply it to the affected area 3 times per day.

4️⃣ Grapefruit seed oil: Just like undecylenic acid, grapefruit seed extract’s powerful antifungal properties come from its ability to disrupt bacterial cell walls and destroy the fungus. Apply to the affected area 2-3 times daily.

5️⃣ Oil of oregano (wild oregano): If you’ve ever tasted it, you know it’s powerful stuff. Oil of oregano contains two powerful antifungals--thymol and carvacrol. Apply up to 3 times per day on the affected area, but always dilute before using directly on skin.

Here are a few tips that could help maintain healthy and clean nails as we approach the summer months:

#1: Disinfect Shoes – Certain types of fungus could remain for some time. Consider using an ultraviolet shoe sanitizer to help get the job done.

#2: Wear Breezy Socks – Sweat is not very helpful when it comes to fungus. Socks that are breathable and keep moisture from collecting around the feet are a good idea.

#3: Sanitize Clippers – Soak used clippers in boiling water, scrub with dish soap, then wipe down with a paper towel before use!
