When you’re overwhelmed, your body goes into “protect” mode. And sugar or carbs become quick chemistry for calm.

Why? Because it’s ingrained in us.

When we were little babies, the one thing that made us feel safe, loved, and comforted was being fed.

That warm milk we were soothed with? A perfect mix of sugar and fat.

So it’s completely natural that, under stress, your body might crave sugar or carbs. It’s simply remembering what once brought comfort.

✨ The next time you reach for something sweet after a stressful day, pause and ask:

--> “What am I actually needing right now? Comfort, rest, or reassurance?”

That one question shifts you from autopilot to awareness.

Have you ever thought that maybe those moments when you eat “out of control” aren’t because you’re weak… but because you LEARNED that was the way?

I once learned that eating chips made me happy. It made me feel connected.
I wasn’t broken. I had just created an association:

chips = comfort.

And the beauty of the mind is this:

if you created that association, you can also rewrite it.

Healing isn’t about judging your patterns.

It’s about meeting them with compassion and teaching your mind new ways to feel safe and supported... without needing food to do it.

Once I understood what my craving for chips was really asking for- connection - I began meeting that need in other ways.

And that’s how I rewrote my story… gently, powerfully, and permanently.

Remember: You are not broken because you eat when you’re stressed, sad, or celebrating.

You simply learned that somewhere.

And the incredible thing?
You have the POWER to rewrite those patterns.

For years, I thought success looked like a title, a certain profession, and working harder than anyone else around me.

That’s what the world showed me, and praised me for and so I followed it.

But have you ever had that feeling of being tired, disconnected, just kind of following the rat race but not really being satisfied?

That was me, no amount of productivity could fill that gap.

It wasn’t until I started working with the subconscious mind that I uncovered the real beliefs running my life, beliefs I didn’t even realize were there:

“I have to prove myself to be worthy.”
“If I slow down, I’ll fall behind.”
“Taking care of myself is selfish.”

Once I rewired those, something profound happened… I stopped chasing a version of success that didn’t belong to me.

And I found my definition of success: Feeling happy. Having energy. Prioritizing health. Living fully and freely.

That’s the power of going deep.

Have you ever asked yourself do I truly, in every cell of my body, feel safe?

I was working with a client recently who loves potatoes 🍽️and she had a moment where she really needed to eat sauteed potatoes.

We paused. We got curious.
And I asked her: “What did you need from the potatoes?”

She said something that hit me: “A sense of security.”

This reminded me how much our core beliefs and inner wiring quietly drive our actions, with food, but also every other area of our life.

So what do we really need to work on?

Not more willpower.
Not another habit tracker.
But creating safety in our body and mind.

Because when your nervous system feels safe, you no longer need to cope.
You get to choose.

Have you ever felt like two versions of you are in conflict?

→ One part of you wants to show up, eat well, rest, move, speak up.
→ And another part just… doesn’t. It brings in the excuses. It says it’s too hard. It shuts down.

I’ve seen this so many times in my clients and I’ve lived it too.

This isn’t because you’re weak or incapable of change. It means there’s something deeper going on.

A subconscious belief that’s in conflict with the part of you that wants to grow.

Because when you have two opposing beliefs like
💭 “I want to eat better” vs. “Chips make me feel good”
💭 “I want to leave work early for the gym” vs. “Work must come first”
you reach a standstill.

And no matter how much effort you use, you just can’t move forward.

That’s the inner tug-of-war that makes consistency feel so hard.

Your subconscious mind is 6,000 times more powerful than your conscious mind.

Let that sink in for a moment.

It’s not your willpower that’s the problem. It’s not discipline or motivation.

It’s that you’ve been trying to make a conscious change… while your subconscious is still wired for the old pattern.

Think of your subconscious like the operating system of your brain.

It’s fast. Automatic. Efficient.

It runs your habits, beliefs, identity, cravings, emotional responses... everything beneath the surface.

Maybe it’s…

“I’ll always struggle with food.”
“I’m just not disciplined enough.”
“If I rest, I’m lazy.”
“I have to be perfect to be worthy.”

Most of the time, these aren’t thoughts we consciously choose.
They’re old subconscious programs, beliefs formed in childhood, shaped by society, or picked up through pain and they’re still running the show.

They quietly sabotage your progress.
They hold you back from being consistent.
They whisper doubts when you try to grow.

The good news?
You don’t have to “think positive” to overwrite them.
You can go deeper, to the root belief and rewire it from the inside out.
