Naturopathic nutrition combines the sciences of biochemistry 🦠 and nutrition 🥑 with natural therapies and lifestyle changes, to help you maintain a good state of health.

Naturopathic nutrition is holistic, because it works with a person as a whole, addressing underlying imbalances, rather than only acting on symptoms.

Protocols are tailored to each person’s unique needs, taking into account lifestyle, ethics and food preferences. Where necessary, diet and lifestyle advice are combined with a program of supplements, herbs and natural remedies 🌿 aimed at addressing any imbalances.

As a registered nutritional therapist, I locate these imbalances by analysing 🕵🏻‍♀️ your diet and lifestyle habits, medical history and test results. After a period of review and research, I develop a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan, tailored to your unique body. ✍️

Consultations are held either online via video call, or in-person in the comfort of your own home (if you live within a 12 mile radius of TN16).

This is one of my all time favourite breakfasts, which has now become a regular weekday occurrence as it’s simple to make, budget friendly, super healthy + of course, delicious.🤤

➡️ Greek, full fat yogurt
➡️ Thinly sliced apple, stewed for 10min with a little water + finely chopped fresh ginger
➡️ chocolate granola
➡️ A handful of pumpkin seeds
➡️ A little squeeze of honey

Yoghurt a good source of protein + the stewed apples are fabulous for helping your gut lining stay healthy (it’s common for the lining to get damaged from modern day living, which leads to all sorts of health issues).

The oat granola + pumpkin seeds are a great source of fibre to help your bowels move regularly + keep your cholesterol level in check.

Are you interested in trying this breakfast? What do you currently eat in the morning (if anything?!) Share below! 👇

5 reasons you need to be getting outside every day 🌿

1️⃣UV Light - super important for upping vitamin D status + regulating your body clock for bulletproof energy throughout the day 💪 + solid sleep at night 💤
2️⃣Nature - being outside in the elements is important for connecting with our source, calming our mind + remembering what life is really about.🥰
3️⃣Movement - fitness often gets forgotten amidst the busyness of life, but movement is crucial to keep the joints + muscles strong, + to detox the lymphatic system of accumulated waste + toxins.🤸‍♂️
4️⃣Fresh air - getting outside gives us a good supply of oxygen which is carried through our blood supply to serve tissues around the body.🩸
5️⃣Grounding - ever noticed how good it feels to put your bare feet on the grass? When we do this, accumulated electricity is sent out from the body + back into the ground, balancing our cellular energy.⚡️

Do you manage to take time outside each day? Comment below👇

Hey people! 👋🏻 I hope you’ve had a wonderfully peaceful yet productive weekend! ☺️

Here’s a gentle reminder to pack in those colours over the coming week to ensure you’re getting an abundance of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals + phytonutrients.🌈

Balance the cooked foods in your diet with raw foods, which provide living enzymes that help us digest our food + provide energy to our cells.💪

Including a spectrum of colours means that we can obtain all the different antioxidant groups. Orange 🥕🍊🍠 foods are rich in beta carotene, green foods 🌿🥦🥬 are packed with chlorophyll + blue/purple foods 🍆🍇🫐 are filled with anthocyanins.

Antioxidants do exactly what their name suggests - they prevent oxidation (“anti-oxidation”). Oxidation is a natural process in the body which is the result of various chemical reactions.

Oxidation causes DNA damage 🧬🔥 + therefore needs to be offset by antioxidants. Oxidation is triggered by fast food, smoking, stress, toxic chemicals, pollution + trans fats.

What colourful foods are you including in your upcoming meals next week? 🧐 Sharw below!

There’s a good reason this pseudo-cereal gets labelled a superfood.🦸🏻‍♀️

It’s one of the few plant foods that contains sufficient quantities of all 9 essential amino acids that the body needs to build new structures. 🧬

Known as the “mother of all grains”, just 1 cup of quinoa contains a mega 8 grams of protein.🤩 It’s also super rich in fibre, which is needed for healthy bowel function, hormone balance + blood sugar control. 🩸

Quinoa is extremely nutrient dense when it comes to vitamins + minerals. It’s rich in manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, folate + copper. It also contains fair levels of iron, zinc, potassium + B vitamins.

It doesn’t end there. Quinoa is packed full with antioxidants too - including quercetin + kaempferol, which also provide anti inflammatory, antiviral + anti cancer properties.💪

Unlike many common grains, quinoa is GMO free + is typically grown by organic processes.🌱

Do you eat quinoa? If so, how do you like to eat yours - do you add spices? Do you pair it with a specific food? Share below to spread the quinoa inspo. 👇
