Fantasies aren’t just daydreams, they’re mirrors. They can show us the wounds we carry and the healing we’re craving. In this blog, I share how my own childhood fantasies shifted over time and how they reflected my journey through trauma, patriarchy, and self-forgiveness.
If you’ve ever wondered why you keep picturing yourself as the hero, the star, or the healer, this post can help you make sense of it, and maybe even use it as a tool for self-understanding.

Explore how your fantasies reveal insights into your trauma history, and learn more about what your fantasies mean for you.

Do you ever feel like you should be able to rest, but your body just…won’t let you?

That restless pacing. The guilt of not being productive. The itch to “use your time well.”
So many of my clients, especially 2nd gen Asians, struggle to actually rest without spiraling into anxiety or shame.

In this new blog, I unpack why rest feels so uncomfortable, why it’s so deeply tied to self-worth, and how we can start unlearning the Hustle&Grind mindset.

I used to skip birthday parties because they felt embarrassing… until I threw four of them in one year.

Turns out, the real story wasn’t about the cake or the guests — it was about reclaiming agency after years of learned helplessness.

When you grow up in a family where trauma, control, or emotional shutdowns were the norm, even choosing to celebrate yourself can feel unfamiliar. But building self-determination doesn’t start with big declarations. It starts with small, doable acts that say: I matter.

This blog is for anyone who feels stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to prioritize their own joy.

If you have trauma, you're also likely to feel helpless at times. Can a birthday party really help us feel empowered? Read to find out!

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the grief that comes with healing—especially the grief of lost time. The years we spent surviving instead of thriving.

This blog came out of a conversation at the gym, where I realized I might be in my second prime. It’s about what it means to reclaim the time we thought trauma took from us, and how we start to live on purpose again.

If you’ve ever felt anger or sadness about what you missed out on, this one’s for you.

Do you feel like trauma stole your prime? Here's 3 tips to embrace your second prime, and live the life that you want.

And here is me, getting some release for all my trauma and anxiety held in my neck and back.

For many of us, growing up with childhood trauma means our nervous system is always activated. Our bodies are always in fight/flight/freeze/fawn mode. Simply put, our bodies are always activated to try and protect us. And that takes a toll on our body.

An important aspect of trauma healing is to become aware of our activated nervous system, and training our bodies to de-activate. If you’re looking for a body-mind approach to therapy, you can find me at www.HarryAuTherapy.com.

Ever been told you're "doing well for a minority"? Or felt pressure to succeed to make your family proud?

The Model Minority Myth seems flattering on the surface—but it’s rooted in anti-Blackness and white supremacy, and it’s messing with our mental health more than we realize.

In this blog, I break down the racist history behind the term, how it was weaponized to divide BIPOC communities, and why breaking free from it can feel both terrifying and freeing.

If you’ve ever felt invisible and under pressure at the same time, this one's for you.

🌟 New Year, New Goals? Let’s make it human. 🌟

Goal-setting doesn’t have to feel like a chore or an arbitrary checklist. In my latest blog, I share two transformative approaches—Identity-Guided Goals and Emotion-Guided Goals—that help you set intentions aligned with who you truly are and how you want to feel.

This year, let’s reflect, connect with our emotions, and make goals that actually mean something. Ready to explore? 👇
