The Clinic Loop trail at Waverly Park is looking great after our dig day! This trail is a great adaptive mountain bike destination, with a 3 mile loop that is aMTB friendly, and there are even more improvements planned. Message us if you want to meet up and ride!

Huge thanks to KyMBA Louisville and Louisville Parks and Recreation for prioritizing adaptive riders and accessibility on our trails. We can't wait to see what the future holds for adaptive mountain biking in Louisville!

This Saturday, November 15th, from 2-5pm we are joining KyMBA Louisville and the JMF Trail Rangers for a trail day at Waverly Park. We will use hand tools to remove soil on the inside edge of the trail, create soil humps to smooth out root transitions, clip smaller roots with loppers, and put in a small trail reroute around two tight trees.

This trail day is a big step to improving trail accessibility for adaptive mountain bikes, and bringing a future Catalyst aMTB program to Louisville. Join us if you can- no experience necessary!

Great news- we have a matching donor for the 2025 Challenge for Access! Catalyst Sports Board Member, John Chapman, and team members, Emily Moscoe and Brittany Morguelan, are taking on the Challenge for Access...in a single day!

This Saturday, November 8th, they’re aiming to climb the wall at Rocksport Climbing 100 times to raise $2,000 in support of the adaptive climbing program for people with physical disabilities.

Every dollar raised will be matched by generous donors, doubling the impact to help bring access to adventure for people of all abilities.

You can support their incredible effort in one of two ways:
1️⃣ Join the climb! Sign up to take on the challenge alongside them (You can climb 3000' in a day or take the whole month, the time frame is up to you.)
2️⃣ Donate! Help them reach (and double) their $2,000 goal

Have you ever wanted to try climbing outside? We are hosting a FREE adaptive climbing meet up during Rocktoberfest, a climbing festival in the Red River Gorge hosted by the RRGCC. This is a chance to climb outside on real rock! The meet-up is Friday October 10th, about 2 hours from Louisville near Slade, KY. The meet-up itself is free but you must register at the link below. If you want to participate in the full weekend of events you will need to purchase a ticket.

An important note on accessibility- the trail to the climbing area is appx. 1/4 mile uphill on a dirt trail with some roots, rocks, etc. It is NOT wheelchair accessible for a standard wheelchair, however it could be accessible with a track chair, adaptive mountain bike, or other off-road mobility device. We will also have volunteers available to help if you are able to hike but need some assistance to hike up/down the trail. There are also NOT restroom facilities at the location of the climb. If you have any questions or concerns about the accessibility of this event please email emily@catalystsports.org!
