Elaina Grace aka Lainey Wilson had a few appointments today in Iowa city. Elaina suffers from daily headaches and her primary care and her eye specialist can’t seem to figure out why. We saw a neurologist a few weeks ago and they ordered a brain MRI.

Today was her MRI. This was her first ever unsedated MRI. She had to have an IV for the contrast. She was so soo sooo very brave. No tears not even an ouch from her. The team says normally with kids they have to re-do a few images just because kids are kids and they move. Elaina had no re-dos. She laid there so still for the whole 25 minutes scan.

Also today was her cancer clinic appointment. Our cancer team says labs look great. They peeked at her brain MRI and said there are no signs of brain cancer. We just need to get the word from neurology to see if the scan explains her constant headaches.

Elaina is officially classified as no sign of disease. She’s has no CANCER!!! She is at 5 years in her journey. So now we start what her team calls survivorship appointments. We will see her cancer team yearly and will have labs and urine testing done. This will be until she is 18 years old unless something arises between now and then. (Pray nothing happens 🙏🏻)

In February the dance marathon with the university holds a BIG EVENT for cancer families. This will be the year Elaina will be able to participate in the graduation ceremony to celebrate being cancer free!!!

She was a strong, brave, and inspirational girl today. I’m so proud of her. Cancer is hard for anyone. She has been a trooper and such a fighter. She made so many friends today throughout the hospital.. talking about her cancer, her cat ear headband, her Iowa shirt and her glittery boots. I wish I could just share her with everyone in the world. She is such a joy and truly the sweetest little girl ever. Elaina Grace I’m so grateful that God chose me to be your mom

The sad truth about childhood cancer 🎗️

Our children are our future. We need to fight for them, advocate for them, and demand they get the funding for research that they deserve.

Today marks a 5 year milestone. (Canceriversary)

5 years ago today I heard the devastating news that my week old baby had cancer.

Through Elaina’s cancer she has proven to be strong, brave, confident, resilient and has shown soo much love.

We have met a ton of people throughout our cancer during, we are so thankful for everyone. All the prayers, kind and encouraging words, donations, and all the support and friendships we have gained.

Elaina is in remission but cancer will always be apart of her story. And I only hope to be able to fight as hard as she did!

Here’s to a lifetime of good health! We love you Elaina Grace 💜

Found out today that Elaina has pneumonia… poor girl is not feeling well. Please say some prayers for her healing and pray we get good results from the additional tests we are waiting for results on. 💛

Chicago Midway International Airport let’s go bold and support the gold in September 💛🎗️our kids need more support and awareness!!

Hey Chicago Midway International Airport next year let’s go gold in September for childhood cancer awareness month before we go pink in October 🎗️ please share and tag them so maybe they’ll see! Kids deserve more awareness and more than 4% of federal funding!

Our friends are highlighting a cancer kiddo’s story everyday this month!! Today Elaina Grace is the star of the show! All month long and everyday please advocate for these kiddos fighting the biggest battles of their lives.
