FIREHYDRANTS - GLUTE STRENGTH

This is a great exercise but often done poorly wasting your time and gains!

👎MOST COMMON ERROR: Leg is raised but spine rotates also. This is to compensate for either poor spine stability or poor glute activation.

RESULT: Glutes never get stronger. 😭

👍CORRECT FORM: As leg raises spine stays engaged and does not rotate. You will find that you cannot lift your leg as far and you will have to work harder to engage.

PRO TIP: Put a lacrosse ball on your low back and try to raise your leg. You will be forced to stabilize your spine and isolate your hips.

RESULT: GLUTE GAINZ 😃

Try to do 3-5 set of 8 reps. Let us know how it goes.

HIT THE BALL LONGER!

Most golfers are looking to rotation their bodies faster to hit the ball further.

Many times the power gap is in the lack of strength on the left side (for the right handed golfer). this could lead to less distance and inconsistent contact (block or hook).

This is a more advanced exercise after single muscle strength and joint mobility has been achieved.

In this video the athlete shifts their weight onto the left and rotates against resistance. This helps to strengthen the transition onto the left side for rotation.

Repeat this exercise for 5 sets of 3-5 reps for a few weeks and let us know how it goes :)
