Absence Epilepsy A new page I just started Nov. 2019 for parents who have a child or loved one with absence epilepsy.

Ask questions or chat and discuss our concerns or experiences with it, hopefully learning more about what it is and ways of dealing with it.

Keppra update: My 16 year old daughter has been taking Keppra capsules for a couple of weeks now and her eye flutters are very few. BUT...her anger and smart mouth towards myself and others are unacceptable. Suggestions?

Hi everyone. Question: Who has experience with Keppra? Tell me your story about the side effects. We hear they are bad and we are only 3 days in.🤕

How do I explain to my daughters Dr. tomorrow how often she flutters her eyes? I only notice it when she hasn't had much sleep. Ive told him before and he doesnt seem to want to accept my answer.

Hello all. I'm surprised people are still joining this page. I gotta be honest, I gave up. The struggle with my daughter having absence epilepsy has been hard. I did want to come on today to say that I'm going to give it another shot. I hope you all are well and taking things one day at a time. Have a good day and thank you for joining.

Thank you for being so patient. Welcome to the new people who have come in search of absence epilepsy information. My daughter is awaiting a February appointment to see how her pills are helping her eye flutters. How are all of you coping with your symptoms✌?

I JUST discovered this video on YouTube. I hope it's okay to use it here on this page. I would like people to become more aware of this condition obviously. My daughter, as I've said, has ONLY eye flutters. It's amazing to me that this brave young lady in the video is speaking so well that her seizures are barely noticeable. Feel free to educate and share with anyone who might be interested.

My first official post! Where to begin...my daughter is 14 and takes a medication called exthosuximide for her eye fluttering. She does not seem to, "zone out" like a lot of videos I've watched about her condition. She flutters her eyes as if she's just blinking very fast and sometimes struggles to focus and find the right words when speaking. This doesn't happen constantly, it has decreased some since being on medication. But the medication is a whole other issue.😳
