Three years on and Holi has just sent me this photos from Leeds, where she has just finished her first year at university. The scars have almost gone!

I haven’t posted for a bit but I thought that you might be interested in an update on Holi.

She is currently in her first year at the University of Leeds and having a great time, grasping every opportunity. In fact, I just heard that she has been selected to be a runway model for three days of Leeds Rag Week in February! She was approached to audition for this but I am certain that she would never have had the confidence to go along had she not had her surgery. Thank you all again.

One year ago today, Holi and I arrived in Germany ready for her surgery, not knowing what the future would hold but hoping that the surgery would change Holi’s life. Today, she is going from strength to strength and her back looks great. Thank you again so much for the support that you showed us - we are forever grateful ###

Holi had her 6 week scan this week and her correction is holding well. If anything, i think that the higher, uncorrected, curve looks better. 😃

Check out those earrings 🤣

17 days post surgery. Holi is off all pain medication and doing well. She gets breathless when she walks up the stairs and hasn’t tried waking too far yet but she is feeling good. Her wounds are healing well too. She even managed a couple of hours at her school prom!

She got her GCSE results on Thursday and did really well, with 9s in all the subjects she wants to take for A level, so she is off to Herts and Essex Sixth Form in September. She’s really pleased.

Floods, operation and now GCSEs. What a summer!

I’ll keep posting x
