We are not computer engineers, but almost all our equipments are microprocessor controlled.

We are not chemical engineers, but many of our analyzers use chemicals for their operation.

We are not material engineers, but our research us based on the variety of materials.

We are not clinicals staffs, but we work in a hospital and are essential part of the well-being of humanity.

We call ourselves BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERs, because being versatile is our speciality.

And here with go with the basics of Monitor right from the display interface to the basics of Calibration as a engineer.
The multiparameter monitors are designed to give number of information on one screen and hence provides multiple information that is needed to understand the patient condition. It has emerged as a monitor to offer flexible solution for varying critical care need.

They provide a comprehensive understanding of patient by giving a broader monitoring scope. These monitors provide reading such as heart rate, central venous pressure, non-invasive blood pressure, ECG, SpO2, PaCO2 and invasive blood pressure and temperature. The monitor has alarm where the parameters can be set and the care giver will be alerted for change beyond the set parameter.

Monitor must be able to monitor ECG, Respiration, SpO2, NIBP and Temperature as a standard parameter.

Do you have an idea about the Laryngoscope???

Laryngoscopy can be used to treat some problems in the vocal cords or throat. For example, long, thin instruments can be passed down the laryngoscope to remove small growths (tumors or polyps) on the vocal cords. A small laser on the end of a laryngoscope can also be used to burn away abnormal areas.

The laryngoscope blade itself consists of 3 components: a spatula, which passes over the lingual surface of the tongue; a fl**ge, which is used to direct or displace the tongue; and a tip, which is designed to lift the epiglottis either directly or indirectly.

A laryngoscopy is a test healthcare providers perform to examine your larynx (voice box). They perform this test with a laryngoscope, a thin tube with lights, lens and video cameras that help them to look closely at your larynx.
