• words can not even describe the heartbreak of losing you. You came into my life a few weeks after dad passed away 10 years ago — the second I saw you at the humane society, I knew you were meant to be with me.
• you helped me through the waves of grief, transitions in life, sickness, and so many pivotal milestones.
• you were there for the slow weekend mornings, the quiet evenings in, the late nights, the early mornings, and the new adventures.
• I’m not sure what brought you to the humane society all those years ago, but I hope you know you were loved by so many people throughout your existence with me. Thank you for being a part of the last 10 years of my life.
• this transition will be a difficult one for us since we grew accustomed to your pitter patter across the house, your drooly messes, your protective barks, your warm welcomes when we get home, your sleep barks + dreams of chasing rabbits, your sneezes, your sunbathing in the garden, your couch potato ways, your cuddles, your drool stained pillows, your spot on the couch + our bedroom floor, and your unconditional love for us.
• thank you for being my shadow, Diesel. I love you very much, my stinky boy, and may we meet again in this lifetime or the next 🖤
