PUMKIN CARVING COMPETITION!!

🎃 we had a clear winner for our pumpkin carving competition... the baby!!! 👶

It was a fun filled competition and some fantastic creations, so well done to all who took part 👏👏

NOVEMBER 🎁
the build up to Christmas and the time for giving..

For the 2nd year running we have chosen the shoe box appeal, this was enjoyed so much last year, we had to do it again!! 🥰

WHAT WE DID:
🛒Took our service users out shopping. Who doesnt like a trip out.....

🔞They picked an age category and gender they would like to purchase for.

🧸Our service users chose what they would like to place in the shoe box and we paid

📦 shoe box, gift wrap also provided

Once back from shopping, we assisted to build up each box with our chosen gifts, wrap them and sent them off, so each child can wake up to a gift at Christmas. ❤️‍🩹

🦔Also this month we collected newspapers for the Lucky HedgeHog Rescue CIC. East Yorkshire as supplies were running low, so keep collecting and we will deliver.

✔️Also a Bucket list ticked off... visit the Humber bridge! What a day we chose. 1/2 of hull was closed off, so big detours and plenty of sitting in traffic. But when we got there the views were lovley, the sun was shining, it would have been rude not to take them over it also and stop for some cheeky food. 🌉🌞

June and july

We have been busy, busy, busy.

🥳1st we would all like to congratulate emily (our team leader) and Joe on the birth of their son Jude. We have managed cuddles which we all absolutely loved 🥰 and more will be booked in 🤣

We have had a couple of months, improving social interaction, physical and mental well-being by:

🎵🎼Music. We have encourage music this month, we have played musical instruments, listened to music, danced to music, lessons on reading notes, and playing a new instrument and plenty of singing 👩‍🎤

🎂 birthday celebrations, with cheesecake making, gifts, cake, singing.

We have had plenty of trips out and challenged with eating competition. 😋

🍅🍅🍅 tomatoes, this still is a massive topic, we have 100's of green tomatoes, but some are turning red!!! Exciting.

🦉 abit of owl identifying. Until I was told it was metal 🤫 but this did encourage bird book reading.🤣🤣

Also June and july. We have managed to meet up with service users family members, for a natter and to go horse riding and fishing!!! Its been fantastic meeting up with them, sharing memories!!! 🥰

Today some of our staff visited Henry Naylors funeral directors in Driffield. A day of helpful and informative educational visit to help us understand the care process of our passed loved ones. We were greeted by the business lead and Funeral service operative. The level of detail and care which goes into the process is incredible and very interesting!. We have walked away with so much information that we can pass on to our service users family, to help support them, we have a really good understanding of what happens after our loved ones leave their property and go into the care of Henry Naylors. But most of all we have learned that Henry Naylors are there for anyone and everyone, regardless if you have used their service or not, providing information and guidance for anyone.

We would like to thank Henry Naylors and all the staff for not only making us feel welcome, listen and answer all our questions, providing an amazing lunch, organised activities and iron out the myths that we hear.

If anyone would like any information, please ask a staff member, we now have a good understanding on what happens next, leaflets ect or you can always call Henry Naylors on 01377 252222 I'm sure they will answer your questions like they answered ours.

April
We have had such a laugh this month, with our tomatoes growing competition. Who would have thought it would be so much fun growing tomatoes 😍

🍻7th April national beer day.. some of our service users celebrated with a trip to the local pub, to meet old and new friends.

🧺 the sun has been shining, so we have been using our gardens to get out and have a picnic.

🪴 we can't help but visit the garden centre for, food, drinks, and plants for our gardens

🐦‍⬛ we have been bird watching.

🍅 oh and tomatoes!!! We have hundreds, we have enough tomatoes plants to supply the supermarkets 🤣 i wonder how many tomatoes we get.

We have been knocking on doors giving the plants away to locals. Which not only gives the plants a home, but involves the local community to join in and enjoy being out in their gardens and producing their own food.

If anyone would like any tomatoes plants we have a few 100 still looking for homes 🤣

Just a few of our tomatoes pic below

February
Our topic this month... different ways to communicate. 🗣

👭We arranged a gathering for our service users, so they could:
Make new friends
Encourage communication with others
Improve engagement
Enhance discussion making
Build trust
Promote motivation

🍫Staff member surprised us with a small note expressing kindness, and attached a chocolate.

📮We sent/ received letters to Promote communication.

🐟Also our usual fish and chips bought for our service users and delivered. This gives them somthing to enjoy and gives partners time off from cooking.

🎤Singing. We used Singing as a form of communication. We have some food singers. This also encourages stories, and bought back memories..

January 2025. HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🥳

This month we gathered information on what has been the best activities! Baking, outings, planting, and fish and chips days has been the favourite.

🍪So we started with the baking/making.
We decorated biscuits. Some made them and enjoyed them, some made them for gifts 🎁

🐴Little Will had a couple out outings for a few cuddles.

🤸‍♂️ chair exercises to keep out legs active and strong.

🍲 our usual trips to the garden center, for cakes, coffee and a look around.

🌴Continued work on family trees.

👶 Little mo visited, for cuddles, and abit of art work and was given plenty of sweets and crisps, one person wanted to take mo out, so off we went.

🧶 one of our staff members whilst out at work, found a hand knitted toy. He's been round to visit everyone and a name will be picked. He's going to be used for a comfort bear, so if somone isn't feeling themselves, bear will be used to make smile and give comfort.

We have had a busy months of activity and getting ready for the festive season.

🌸We have visited a few poppy displays in roos, Withernsea and patrington.
