We’re honoured to welcome Dr Charles D. Nichols, a leading researcher in the field of psychedelic pharmacology. Based at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Dr Nichols is internationally recognised for his pioneering work on the anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating effects of psychedelics.

His research explores how these substances, even at very low doses, may influence the body’s immune response and open new therapeutic pathways for conditions beyond mood disorders, such as autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

🌀 Psychedelics and mental health: documentary screening + expert panel 🌀

As part of Mental Health Week 2025, PsychedeliCare and the Psychedelic Society Belgium (PSBE) invite you to an evening dedicated to exploring the therapeutic potential of psychedelics.

📽️ We’ll be screening the documentary “Psychédéliques : trip sur ordonnance” ( ), which dives into the latest scientific progress in psychedelic-assisted therapies and the clinical challenges ahead.

👩‍⚕️ The screening will be followed by a discussion with experts in psychiatry and psychedelic research, including Dr. Caroline Depuydt, featured in the film. They will share their insights and answer questions from the audience.

✨ Call for testimonies – contribute to Belgium’s first book on psychedelics ✨

Did you have a healing, life altering experience with psychedelics, preferably in a guided and/or clinical setting, and are you willing to share your (full) story? Maybe you’re the person journalist and PSBE member Jonas Boel is looking for.

Jonas is working on a book. ‘De trip van mijn leven’ (‘trip of a lifetime’) is a book with intimate portraits of ordinary people, sharing their extraordinary, life changing experiences with psychedelics. More than just testimonies, the portraits will not only focus on the psychedelic experience itself, but also on the circumstances before and after, the specific mindset towards the experience and the integration. To summarize: who, why, when, where, what happened next.

The aim is to portray recognisable people from all ages, genders, and walks of life, providing background and insights into the practices and benefits of therapeutic psychedelics from a personal perspective. Anonymity is not an issue, but personal background and details will be important in bringing these stories to life, bringing them close to home for the reader.

Are you a resident of Belgium, do you speak Dutch or English, and did psychedelics help you overcome a struggle with depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, grief… did they in any way contribute to your quality of life, and would you like to be part of this significant project?

🧠 In July, Psychedelic Society Belgium had the privilege of welcoming Saj Razvi for an in-depth lecture on Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Therapy (PSIT).
PSIT is a clinically informed therapeutic model that explores how trauma is held in the body. Carefully guided sessions, including the use of psychedelics, may support emotional processing through somatic and relational techniques.
Mr. Razvi offered valuable perspectives for both mental health professionals and individuals interested in therapeutic psychedelic applications.

Luc Rombaut is a trauma-informed coach, mindfulness trainer, and drug prevention expert with nearly 20 years of experience in the field. He is the founder of Aora bvba and has served as the director of the prevention organization Drugstories. Luc is trained in body-oriented psychotherapy (Agape), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Integral Coaching (ICF-certified). With over 25 years of meditation practice and annual Vipassana retreats, he brings a deeply embodied and compassionate approach to healing. Luc is also an active volunteer with PSBE and Smart on Drugs, and he draws from his own lived experience with alcohol and psychedelics to support others on their journey.
