What an IO Blessing this Hauora was.. a beautiful day filled with so much Aroha and Kotahitanga across the community. NSW Council for Pacific Communities we are so thankful for the opportunity to hold a Hauora within such a beautiful community.

With people from all walks of life, Māori, Pacifika and Non-Māori - we were able to see what a beautiful community you have all created.

A huge shout out to Joy, for making sure we had absolutely everything we needed and giving us a hand on the day. We are so thankful for your Aroha and support.

To those who gave Koha through Kai/Food we were absolutely astonished and overwhelmed by the Kai given to us. Thankyou all so much.

Especially to Matua James Munroe , your smoked fish was amazing and to say the least it did not make it home. Your generosity was such a blessing. Ngā Mihi Matua.

We cannot wait to be back in the presence of this beautiful community and we are so thankful to those who assisted in making this happen and those who came through to see us on the day.

✨THIS SATURDAY WĀHINE MĀ - MELBOURNE✨

✨ Te Wā o Hine – A Wānanga of the Feminine Essence ✨

It is time to return to the essence of Hine ,the sacred feminine energy that flows through every stage of life. This 6-hour wānanga invites wāhine to reconnect with the ancient stories, wisdom, and healing practices of our atua wāhine and our own wharetangata.

Through kōrero, reflection, and hands-on practice, we will explore:

🌿 The origins of the devine feminine energy from Whaea Rikoriko, through to Papatuānuku. Sharing the pūrakau of Hineahuone who was fashioned from the sacred earth at Kurawaka.. the birthing of Hinetītama who then transitioned into Hine-nui-te-po

🌿 Te reo o te wāhine - honouring the power of karanga and activating our own expression.

🌿 Wharetangata - the sacred house of humanity, hapūtanga, and the cycles of creation.

🌿 Rongoā practice - experiencing the healing properties of kawakawa with a nourishing face poultice, connecting our bodies to Papatūānuku.

This is a space to wānanga, heal, and reclaim the power of wāhine energy, to listen, learn, and remember together.

🌀When: Saturday 8th November
🌀 Where: Balam Balam Place, Brunswick
🌀 Time: 8:30am - 2:30pm

We’re deeply grateful to whaea Joy from NSWCPC and South West Multicultural Community Centre for the opportunity to collaborate and bring Ahikāroa Māori Healing to the Minto, community
It was an honour to hold space alongside such dedicated kaimahi and witness so many beautiful moments , reconnection, and renewal.
We were spoilt freshly cooked banana bread,smoked salmon hot out the smoker, kiwi pies, sandwiches so much tino reka kai blessed by Io in so many ways
We’re looking forward to returning soon to continue this kaupapa of hauora and kotahitanga across communities.
