As part of Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we are shining the spotlight on one of our younger team members, Lars.
The following excerpt is from an assignment Lars recently completed at school:
My name is Lars, I'm 16 years old and this is a story about how cooking made a huge impact on my life.
Throughout my life I had a lot of challenges to overcome because I have level 2 autism which means I could not focus properly in class and I messed up. But I started to step up and get myself together and began to work hard very
hard and it paid off. Working hard opened a lot of doors for me in year 10.
My mum and HASS teacher were looking for a job because I was going into work experience. This is when i really started to become badass at work, l liked cooking when I was little, me and my mum would cook all the time. Over time I fell in love with cooking when I found out I was going to work in a kitchen. I was over the moon.

The artwork is a watercolour painting that Lars did of himself from a photograph taken in our training kitchen.
Needless to say, we are very proud of Lars and his badass performance!
