Some children experience the world in a way that feels too much or not enough.

These are signs of Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) – when the brain struggles to organise and respond to information from the senses.

Recognising these signs is the first step to understanding and supporting a child’s needs.

A sensory processing checklist is available all our toolkits at link in comments or via Linktree Shop in Bio.

Are you helping your child with disabilities through their toilet training journey?

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Nearly all children can learn to be clean and dry – it may take longer, and they may need more support, but toilet training is a life skill. Learning to wee and poo in the toilet will change your child’s future, which is why we've created a new advice sheet to support you through this toilet training journey.

The advice sheet covers:
🔵What does children with additional needs mean?
🔵Where to start
🔵What if my child is older?
🔵Always suspect constipation
🔵What about the bladder?
🔵Extra support
🔵Getting going with toilet training

You'll find this advice sheet on our website - https://eric.org.uk/advice-about-bladders-bowels-and-toileting-for-children-with-additional-needs-2/

🗣Tag and share with any parents or carers you know who could use this advice.

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. 💙

We stand with disabled children and young people, and their families, as we push for a fairer, more inclusive world.

This year's theme is fostering disability-inclusive societies. Inclusion means creating spaces where every person feels understood, valued, and supported.

We will continue speaking up and campaigning for meaningful change to the SEND system, so all disabled children can play, learn, grow, and thrive. 🌟
