Good morning friends!

Our plan is to start relocating back to Northern California soon.
(Placer/ Sac County areas)

Unfortunately, our family will be separated for a while as we start the process of finding employment.

If anyone hears of any job leads in the disability, case management, medical office work or even city jobs that provide health benefits.

We have been talking about opening up an Able Account for our disabled son for so many years now.

If you or a family member have a disability, you may be interested in learning about a tax-advantaged option called an ABLE account, which can be used to save or invest for qualified disability expenses. Many states have launched ABLE programs, and others are quickly following suit.

To qualify for federal public benefits, individuals with disabilities must meet a means or resource test. They may only have $2,000 in countable assets, which may inhibit financial independence. Luckily, funds in an ABLE account generally don't count toward this asset limit. They may achieve a level of financial autonomy while maintaining their public benefits.

Do you mind sharing if anyone has opened up one recently and how was the process? We were told you can open one up with any state or a bank that offers them?

We would greatly appreciate feedback on these type of accounts for our special needs kids/ adults.

Beginning January 1, 2026, the eligibility rules for ABLE accounts will expand, allowing millions more Americans to:
• Save money in a tax-advantaged account
• Maintain eligibility for vital public benefits while building assets
• Gain greater financial independence and security
