I called my gathering at Firefly “Cultivating Grace.” This was not to come together & be physically graceful so much as to learn to offer ourselves ~ to open ourselves to ~ the Grace that comes from something bigger than ourselves, from inside us. Perhaps the truest “teaching” I can offer is to show you the truth of what receiving Grace looks like for me. Right now, dear friends & community, Grace looks like less busy-ness, less holding space for others, & more giving space to my sweet self. This means I am not going to continue teaching yoga at Firefly right now, in this season ~ so no more Wednesday evening 6:30 pm class. Thank you to all who came & shared their sacred selves in shared sacred space. I honor you. And I honor me, which in this season looks like more solitude, more listening, more giving in to Grace even if my mind doesn’t like what it says … my heart knows. Thank you for the honor to start something new & then listen when my soul says, “not right now.” May you receive that same Grace whenever it is time. Grace is the sweet, tender opening of the tight bud of our heart when we stop trying so hard, even for a moment. When we start trusting. This gathering will guide us through familiar yoga postures — some restful, some summoning more strength — as we open to grace within each shape. We do this through breath, and through gentle, intuitive, fluid and feminine movements found within the container of each posture. We will trust our hearts, our souls, and our bodies to show us where grace asks us to open, just a little more, in each moment … so that we come away from coming together with more grace to give to our world … because we have given it to ourselves, through intentional embodied movement and the courage to trust our own natural, wild wisdom. All levels of experience and fitness are welcome.
