Silay City Population Office in collaboration with the Silay City Primary Care Facility- Adolescent Health and Development Program and Silay City Peer Educators held the Adlaw sang Kabataang Silaynon Part III with the theme, “Bida ang Pamatan-on: Maayong Panghunahuna, Maayong Pangabuhi” at the Natalio G. Velez Sports and Cultural Center, October 17, 2025.
Present during the event were guests from the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) – Negros Island Region, headed by Dr. Jonathan Dioteles, Assistant Regional Director, together with Ma’am Gretchen Jamorin and Sir Alemeth Carl Visorro. Also in attendance was Dr. Vanessa Mahrie Madayag, Assistant Head of the City Primary Care Facility (PCF).
Representatives from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) were likewise present to show their support.
The celebration was actively participated by students from both public and private schools in Silay City. The Silay Peer Educators led the lectures busting myths about adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
The discussions focused on key topics such as:
🔸Puberty
🔸Nutrition
🔸Gender and Health, SOGIE
🔸STI, HIV, AIDS
🔸Reproduction and Responsibility
Each session was made livelier through interactive and educational games where participants eagerly competed for exciting prizes.
In the afternoon, each school showcased their talents reflecting the creativity and energy of Silay’s young people. The event concluded on an inspiring note with a community song and dance to “Fight Song”, symbolizing the strength, hope, and unity of the Silaynon youth.
