According to the Department of Health, by the end of 2021, an estimated total of 133,800 adults and children are living with HIV in the Philippines.

As of December 2021, approximately 94,000 were diagnosed and among them, only about 56,000 are on antiretroviral therapy (ART). The Free to Be U campaign aims to raise awareness and understanding of accessible HIV programs and services. It also intends to destigmatize HIV and encourage a welcoming approach toward its prevention, testing, and treatment, empowering everyone regardless of HIV status to be Free to Be U. This campaign is brought to you by PEPFAR, USAID, and EpiC Philippines in partnership with DOH HealthyPilipinas, Konsultayo, HASH, LoveYourself, PAFPI, RTHSN-Lakan, SHIP, TDIF, and TLFShare.
